RiteAid Haul (1.30.2012)

Hey everyone! If you didn't read my previous post, I decided to separate my hauls into two posts because I don't want to get anybody confused with the sales and going to the wrong store. LOL I didn't buy that much from my RiteAid because they never restock their displays until customers start complaining. There wasn't that much of a selection at my store so I might try going to another RiteAid to get some.

If you guys didn't know already, this week at RiteAid, EcoTools brushes and brush sets are BOGO FREE!! When I saw that sale, I was like, "Heck yeah!" If you love EcoTool brushes, then you know that this is the best time to buy and/or restock on your brushes. Plus you would also know that EcoTools hardly ever BOGO FREE. This probably happens like once a year so I definitely wanted to take advantage.

What I bought:
EcoTools Bamboo 6 Piece Eye Brush Set
I went in wanting to get the face brush set but my RiteAid didn't have it. You would think with the sale that they would restock the displays but nope, they left it the way it was looking for months before. These brushes are so soft. I like how it comes with a convenient travel case that has a mirror. I am just worried that the mirror might break because the case isn't that sturdy or strong. Its just a piece of cloth basically. So I am pretty sure if you accidently sit on it or step on it, the mirror will crack. This brush set retails for $7.99 plus tax. This set comes with 6 brushes:
  1. Large Eye Brush
  2. Angled Eye Brush
  3. Small Eye Shading Brush
  4. Highlighting Brush
  5. Smudge Brush
  6. Travel Case with Mirror

EcoTools Recycled Retractable Kabuki
This retractable Kabuki brush was $7.99 but because of the BOGO FREE sale, I got this for FREE!! YEAH! I have been wanting a retractable kabuki brush for so long. I hate having to carry a regular brush with me because I am always afraid that the bristles would get stuck in the zipper. Plus its unsanitary just sticking the brush in the makeup bag without a cover. This brush is so soft an sturdy! I know that I am definitely going to be loving this!

WnW MegaLast Lipstick
This lipstick was on clearance. I can't remember the exact price but I think it was under a dollar. I havent tried this line of lipsticks from WnW before but I have heard great reviews on these. I heard that they are pretty pigmented and long-lasting on the lips. I bought this in the shade 909D Coral-ine.
I hope you all like my haul. I wanted to post this up as soon as possible because I wanted everyone to take advantage of the EcoTools sale. BOGO FREE is a great sale and something to be taken advantage of. LOL If you have any questions or would like to see swatches and/or reviews, please comment below and let me know.

Have you taken advantage of this sale? Do you like EcoTools brushes? Which ones would you recommend? What do you think about the WnW lipsticks?

CVS Haul (1.30.2012)

Hey everyone! There have been really good sales this week at both CVS and RiteAid. You will be seeing my RiteAid haul right after this one, once I am done typing it up. I went to both stores yesterday and came back with some goodies! You know, I never try leaving a store without buying something. LOL I feel like its just a waste of gas if I don't buy something. I am going to separate my CVS haul from my RiteAid haul because I don't want to get anybody confused with the sales and going to the wrong store. LOL

Okay, I wasn't going to go to CVS this week because I didn't want to spend money but I had some extra ECBs that were going to expire and I wanted to get some good use out of them. Throwing away ECBs is sort of like throwing away money. Plus they were having a great sale that if you bought $30 worth of Revlon products, you get $10ECBs! So it was sort of like spending $20, plus if you had manufacturer coupons, it would make the deal even better!! I went in looking for the Revlon Lip Butters but the store that I went to didn't have any! I was like, "What?!" I asked the lady at the cosmetic counter and she said that they haven't received them yet. Seriously? I asked when she was going to receive them but she didn't know when. Darn! I went to that CVS store for nothing but I couldn't walk out empty handed! Good thing too because CVS was having a great deal on their other products!

Right now, for this week, if you spend $10 on Physicians Formula products, you get $7ECBs back. So if you bought something that was $9.99, after getting the ECBs back, its sort of like you paid $3 plux tax! Even better, on some of the products, there are $3 off coupons! So it makes it practically FREE! If you find the coupons, its like paying $7 plus tax (if you buy a product that is around $9.99) and you get back $7ECBs!! I hope I explained everything alright. It might be confusing. If you have any questions, you can comment below and I'll try my best to answer them. Its only limit one per card. I wanted both the new lipgloss and the blush but since I had to choose I bought the blush because I love me some blushes!

Also, another great sale this week at CVS is on WnW products! Right now, they are 40% off! I know that WnW products are already inexpensive but I love saving money, so I couldn't help myself to some extra products. LOL They also have a sale on their American Greeting cards. Buy 3, get $3ECBs! So its sort of like just paying tax if you get the cards that are $0.99 instead of the regular price ones.

Okay, onto what I bought:
Skintimate SkinTherapy Shaving Cream (x2)
I bought the ones for sensitive skin. I wanted the ones in the pink packaging but the CVS store that I went to just had these two. There were only four left but I didn't know if I was going to have enough money so I only took two with me to the register. After buying everything, I had some extra money and went back to the aisle to grab the last two but they were gone. That was fast! I guess somebody came while I was in line and bought the last two. Darn! These are $4.19 and for a limited time, there are having an unadvertised sale on these. If you buy one, you get $4ECBs back, so its sort of like paying $0.19 plus tax for one. Its limit one per transaction so I had to do two seperate transactions.

John Frieda Salon Precise Foam Coverage
I had a coupon for a free product that was expiring today so I wanted to use it. I got the one in the shade 4R Dark Red Brown. I have been wanting to dye my hair in this reddish brown color. Plus I think it will go really well with my fair skin! Hopefully all goes well the first time I do it and the shade goes well with my skintone! I am going to be dying my hair maybe next month so wish me luck! LOL

Physicians Formula pHmatchmaker pH Powdered Blush
This is such an interesting blush! It claims to react to light and your pH for the perfect blushing glow for your cheeks! It also claims to stay the same color while you are in indoors and outdoors. Plus it instantly matches your skin in 60 seconds. To tell you the truth, I didn't really care about all that. I just wanted it because the compact lights up!!! I have already opened it and gave it a try! Its so cute! I am a little bit dissappointed that they didn't put that much product in here but I love the lights. I can't wait to use this on a night out and show it off! LOL I bought this for $4-$5 after ECBs and using the $3 off coupon that was on the actual product. I plan on getting the lipgloss next, which also has lights on the inside of the cap!! The blush that I bought is in the shade, Natural. I was going to get it in the shade, Rose but I have another blush with that name from their Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush line. I didn't know if the two shades are similar because they have the same names and I didn't see any swatches beforehand so I went on the safe side.

WnW MegaShield Lip Color SPF 15 (x2)
Apparently WnW came out wth a new line called MegaShield. With the sale this week, I thought it was the perfect time to try try out! I haven't tried these out yet but I have heard from a couple of blogs that these are pretty creamy and pigmented. I bought 370S Lolly Popstar and 369S Salsa Lessons. Lolly Popstar is a very vibrant fushcia pink while Salsa Lessons is a bright red. These had $1 off coupons on the actual lipsticks. So with the 40% off sale, these were $1.80 and with the coupon, I only paid about $0.80 each plus tax!!
 ❀WnW Wild Shine Nail Polish
This was also 40% off. I can't remember the exact price after the 40% off but regular price, it was $0.99 plus tax. I bought it in the shade 435G Sparkled. I just love the name of this polish. LOL Its a glitter polish. Its not like the One Coat Glitter nail polishes from Milani. If I wanted to just wear this polish, I would probably need more than 2 coats to get my whole nail covered with glitter.

American Greetings cards (x3)
These cards were on sale at CVS. If you buy three of these at $0.99 each, then you get $3ECBs back. To get the best deal out of this, make sure to get the cards that are priced $0.99 each. Plus you can only do this deal once per card.

Reese's Peanut Butter Egg
This was also on sale. Its $0.87 and you get $0.87ECBs back. Plus its candy so you don't pay tax so its kind of getting it for FREE. Today is the last day for this deal. After today, these will be 2/$1 and no ECBs. If you do get this today, make sure to check your receipt and check if you got the ECBs for it. My store didn't give it to me and I had to go back in and tell them. They gave me grief on it and I had to show them the advertisement and they just looked at the picture and said that I bought the wrong one. I told them to read the actual description because there are different varities selected and mines was included so they had to give it to me. So make sure! Plus it was delicious. I shared half with my little brother and its so good! Sorry I didn't take a separate picture of this. My brother and I ate it because we couldn't wait any longer. LOL You can still see it in my first picture above.

So that is all for my haul! I saved a lot of money and I am so happy with all the products that I bought, especially with the Physicians Formula blush. I love how it lights up! I wish that there were little mini lights all around the mirror but there are only two lights, one on each side of the mirror. That's fine because they are very bright! So I hope you all like my haul! If you guys wanted to try out the new products from Physicians Formula, I recommend going right now before all the good products are gone and before all the $3 coupons are taken!

Have you guys ever tried any of these products? What do you think about the new products from Physicians Formula and WnW? Are there any that you would love to get your hands on?

NOTD: China Glaze in Re-Fresh Mint

Hey everyone! I'm back with another NOTD! I always tend to forget to take a picture of my nails whenever I paint them. Plus I feel like they don't really compete with all the freaking gorgeous nail designs being posted all over the Internet. This week I just painted my nails with China Glaze in Re-Fresh Mint.

I have been wanting this nail polish for so long and I was so happy when I finally found it. I saw it on the nail polish display and snatched it up right away. LOL It is the perfect minty nail polish. My only other minty nail polish is Milani in Dress Maker, which is more on the green side than minty. If that makes any sense! Plus Dress Maker has shimmers in it and it was really sheer. I wanted a nail polish that was just a creamy mint with no shimmers. Dress Maker took about 4 coats to get it opaque but Re-Fresh Mint only took 2 coats! LOVE! If you are like me, then you prefer nail polishes that don't need that many coats.

This nail look is pretty simple. I didn't add any nail art to it because it was my first time wearing Re-Fresh Mint and I just loved the color so much that I didn't want to change it or add anything to it. LOL Like I said its pretty simple. Re-Fresh Mint is pretty opaque, you can get away with just one coat but I actually wanted two coats because I wanted it to even be seen for afar. I know, I'm weird. That is how much I love this shade! LOL

As for my base coat, I used Orly Top2Bottom. Top2Bottom is a basecoat and topcoat all-in-one nail polish. I don't really like it as my top coat, because it takes forever to dry. A top coat that I have been really loving since I bought it is the Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat. This makes my nail polishes dry pretty quick and plus it gives them a nice shine. If anyone wants me to do a review on the Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat, just let me know by commenting below and I will post one!

Well that is all for my nail look! I hope you guys liked it. I know its pretty simple, but I promise I will try to do some nail art in the future once I get the hang of it and the patience to do it. If you have any other questions, let me know by commenting below and I will try my best to answer all of them!
Have you tried China Glaze nail polish in Re-Fresh Mint? Are there any mint nail polishes that you love and/or crave? Any that you would recommend?

Review: Revlon ColorStay Foundation

Hi everyone! I'm back with another review! Today I am reviewing one of my favorite drugstore foundations. The foundation that I am going to review is the Revlon ColorStay Foundation. The one that I have is in the shade 240 Medium Beige for Combination/Oily skin. They also have one for dry and normal skin. I have combination skin so I bought the one that was designed for my skin. I have been wearing this foundation for about 6 months now and I thought that it was time that I did a review because I wanted to share with everyone the favorite foundation as of right now.

WHAT:
This is the Revlon ColorStay foundation. It is from their ColorStay line. This foundation is supposed to last 16 hours on the face. It also has SPF 6, which isn't as high as my other foundations but its better than having no SPF. They also have this foundation for different skin types, which I really like because not many brands do that for their foundations. So I really like how people with all different skin types can try this foundation and having it adjust to their skin. This foundation gives you a flawless look, depending on how you apply it. The coverage is really great as well, which is medium to full coverage. You can also sheer out the coverage by adding little layers at a time to get the coverage that you desire. Make sure to blend the foundation out quickly because it does dry a little bit faster than other foundations that I have tried. You have to make sure that you put on a moisturizer before applying this foundation because it will make your dry patches more noticable. Trust me!

HOW:
To apply this foundation, I use my ELF Studio Powder Brush. Its is the perfect flat top brush for blending out liquid foundation. Plus sometimes if I want a really light foundation look, I sometimes mix this foundation with my Maybelline FitMe foundation. The Revlon ColorStay foundation is a bit thick and the Maybelline FitMe foundation is very light so having a combination of both foundations mixed together is perfect.

WHERE:
You can find this foundation basically anywhere Revlon products are sold. I bought mines at RiteAid. You can also buy it at CVS, Walgreens, Target, WalMart, Ulta and RiteAid. Both Target and WalMart sell these a little bit cheaper at regular price but if there is a sale at either CVS, Walgreens, or RiteAid then its sometimes best to buy from the drugstore because they sometimes have great sales like BOGO FREE, BOGO 50% OFF, and/or 40% OFF.

PRICE:
I can't remember the exact price but I think my RiteAid was selling them for $11.49USD but I am not exactly sure. The price varies by store and by location. I do know that both WalMart and Target sells the foundation at a low price but sometimes its better to buy from either Walgreens, CVS or RiteAid whenever they have a sale on Revlon products. I have seen these drugstores have BOGO or a certain amount of percent off regular retail price.

PROS:
  • The price isn't that bad, especially when you can buy it on sale.
  • Medum to full coverage, which is great for covering up those acne scars and random pimples.
  • It has a bunch of shades to match to your skin tone.
  • Lasts all day on my skin, which is really great for those days when I don't feel like touching up or if I know that I am going to be out all day.
  • Easy to blend and dries fairly fast.
  • Different skin types: Dry to Normal, Normal to Combination, and Combination to Oily
CONS:
  • The foundation has no pump, which makes it not sanitary. I wish that Revlon would come out with newer versons of this foundation with a pump because it makes it sanitary and its better to control how much amount you want. I always hate pouring out foundation because too much comes out of the bottle and ends up being wasted.
  • The foundation could be a little on the heavy side.
  • If you don't moisturize your face and have a couple of dry patches on your face from acne medications then this foundation will make them even more noticable.

If I ever run out of this foundation, I would probably repurchase if I don't find a better drugstore foundation. I hope you liked my review and swatches. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

CVS Haul (Feat. Milani, Almay & Revlon)

Hey everyone! I don't know if you have heard but CVS is having a sale on their Milani products. A bunch of selected Milani products are 75% off!! Sorry if this post is a few days late, I bought all this stuff when CVS was having a sale on their Almay Intense I-Color Trios for $5.99USD plus tax with $3ECBs back. I had one $1USD off manufacturer coupon for any Almay product and the RedBox Coupon Machine at CVS printed out a $3USD off any Almay product so I thought this was a perfect time to try out their new trios! With the manufacturer coupons and the CVS coupon, I only paid $1.99USD plus tax and got back $3ECBs!!

What I bought:
Almay Intense I-Color For Brown Eyes
I bought the one in Satin-I Kit! I love the shadows in this trio, especially the pink being used as an over the lid shade! Its so gorgeous! I can't wait to use this.

Revlon Lip Butters (x2)
I bought two Lip Butters! I bought one in 065 Creamsicle and 060 Gumdrop. Cremsicle looks like a gorgeous creamy sorbet orange. I don't have any lip products like this so I can't wait to see how it will look on my lips and coming up with eye looks to go with it. Gumdrop looks like a gorgeous lavender shade! These Lip Butters are so moisturizing and pigmented! These were BOGO 50% off and I had two $1USD off manufacturer coupon and a CVS coupon for $3USD off.

Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eyeliner
I bought this one in Silver. Its the only shade on clearance. I already have the one in black and its so pigmented and long lasting that I decided to get another one in Silver to try out. This one will be great for night outs and for parties!

Milani Minerals Blush With Brush (x4)
I bought all four shades that they had. I was lucky to get there just in time because I grabbed all last four blushes! Whew! I haven't tried these yet but I do have the Milani Baked Blushes and they are pretty good so I am excited to try these out. I bought 203 Mai-Tai, 201 Luminous, 204 Sweet Rose, and 202 Sunset Beach.

I can't wait to try out all these products, especially the blushes because I am such a blush addict! LOL Have you been to CVS lately and taken advantage of the Milani sale? What do you think about Milani products? I am definitely going to go back sometime and get more products! I might get some nail polishes! I have been looking for the Milani One Coat Glitter nail polishes but none of my CVS, RiteAid, and Walgreens have it. My Target is the only place to even have slots for them but its always empty. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a couple of them because I love glitter nail polishes! Is there a Milani product that you think I should get?

Review: Tarte The Starlet Limited Edition Makeup Vanity

Hey everyone! Today I am going to be reviewing a product that I recently received. I was so exicited to finally get my hands on this. I was so surprised when I got this as a gift! I have never seen a makeup product like this before. Its so gorgeous with the mirrored sides. Sorry about the quality of these pictures, I took them with my camera phone before I got my Nikon camera. If you would like to see some pictures and/or swatches, let me know and I will post them!

WHAT: This is a limited edition product so if you are interested in it, you should definitely pick it up while they still have some in stock. It is a makeup vanity with mirrored sides on the top and front three sides. Just to let you know that the makeup comes in removable trays so once you are done using the makeup, you can take the trays out and reuse the vanity to hold your jewelry in the future!! I included pictures of what the vanity looks like with the tray removed and what the tray looks like once removed. The vanity itself contains 24 eyeshadows, lash primer, mascar, bronzer, 2 blushes and a shimmering powder. I love how once you are done using all of the makeup, you can take out the trays and it becomes a reusable jewelry box! I also love how the makeup in this vanity is formulated without any synthetic fragrance, mineral oil, phthalates, parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate.

PRICE: This makeup vanity is only $52USD!! That is a really great deal considering that you get a reusable jewelry box after you are done with the makeup. Its says that it has a $505USD value, which is pretty high. The price is great for all everything that you are getting in this vanity!

WHERE: It is sold exclusively at Sephora. It is limited edition so I don't know if Sephora still has this.

I am going to include a breakdown of all the eyeshadows that is included in this vanity. I took a picture of each makeup tray. In the top space of the vanity, which is shown the picture below, shows all the eyeshadows. I am going to be listing each shade, starting with the top corner.

I am going to start with the square pan shadows first and then move onto the rectangular ones.
If you look at the picture below, you will see basically traditional smokey shades:
-Celebrity, shimmery deep gray
-Superstar, shimmery deep silver
-Luminary, frosty silver
-Opening Night, sparkling black

If you look at the picture below, you will see somewhat earthy tone shades:
-Talent, shimmery peach
-Idol, matte taupe
-Cameo, matte beige
-Virtuoso, sparkling forest green

Now this picture below, you will see shades great for a plum smokey look:
-Stardom, blackened plum
-Icon, warm liliac
-Major, shimmery plum
-Siren, shimmery deep mauve

In the next picture, which is also the last quad in the top space of the vanity, you have mostly blue shades:
-Fame, shimmery cobalt blue
-Big Break, shimmery silver blue
-V.I.P., shimmery silver with a blue undertone
-Toast, shimmery light copperish beige

In the next picture below, there are two more eyeshadow quads and two deluxe sized sample products. It is the Tarte MultiplEye lash primer and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara. I haven't tried the lash primer or the mascara yet but I will try to do a review once I do.

In the picture below, you will see neutral brown shades (these are my favorite shades out of the vanity):
-Popular, shimmery golden beige
-Timeless, shimmery deep brown
-Prestige, matte medium beige
-Trophy, shimmery golden brown

In the next quad, you will see mostly pink shades (which is my second favorite quad):
-Ingenue, matte baby pink
-Prima Donna, shimmery cinnamon brown
-Leading Lady, shimmery nude pink
-Diva, shimmery dusty rose

In the picture below is the last drawer in the vanity. It shows the bronzer, 2 blushes and the shimmering power. I wish the bronzer and the blushes were a little bit bigger in size. I love the blushes in this vanity. I have been wanting to try out the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Clay blushes ever since a friend recommended them to me. This is the perfect way to try them out before buying a full size. Starting from the left to the right, you have:
-Park Avenue Princess, highly pearled golden tan(Mineral Powder Bronzer)
-Glory, shimmery peach (Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush)
-Starlet, shimmery rose (Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush)
-Rose, soft petal pink (Amazonian Clay Shimmering Powder)

I have to say I love this makeup vanity. I love how it has mirrored panels with pull-out drawers and a large pop-up mirror. I wouldn't bring this for traveling because of its size. Its more of a stay put on your desk and look pretty makeup. Each of the trays are removeable and the drawers are lined in Tarte's signature purple, which I love! The only thing that I don't like about this makeup vanity is that you have to be careful holding it because the drawers can easily open. They are not magnetized or anything so they can easily pop open. But other than that, I love it! I would definitely recommend this makeup vanity. I never tried Tarte products before so this makeup vanity is great for me to try their eyeshadows, blushes, bronzer, powder and mascara.

Well I hope you liked my review! If you would love to see swatches, please let me know by commenting below and I will try. I was going to post the swatches in this post too but it took me a long time to try to capture the true colors with my camer phone. If you want to see swatches, I will use my actual camera and try to see if that will work better. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
