Lisa's March 2013 Favorites & Forgets

Hey everyone! March is now over and now its April. Of course, I wanted to have this post ready for the first day of April but its been crazy lately. I hope you guys all had a great April Fool's Day and had lots of fun pranking people. I know I sure did with my little brother. Haha. If you guys did some crazy pranks, I would love to hear about them, especially if they involve lots of laughter! Okay onto my monthly favorites! This time, for my March favorites, I don't really have a lot of products. I am a bit surprised but thats probably because I have been using the same products so I didn't really want to feature them again on repeat. But I do know for sure, next months will probably be bigger with a bunch of makeup items. Plus because I reorganized my makeup collection, I discovered a couple of products that I forgot about.

FOUNDATION:
◊ Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation "Medium Beige"
Its been a while since I used this foundation. I had actually stopped because I wasn't breaking out as much as before so I didn't really need a foundation with much coverage. Since I reorganized my makeup, I decided to start wearing this again. Its actually a pretty good foundation but it is a bit on the thick side (but not as thick and cakey as the original Revlon ColorStay, in my opinion) and I tend to prefer foundations that are more liquidy. If you are looking for an alternative to the original Revlon ColorStay foundation, you might like this one.

CONCEALERS:
◊ Almay Clear Complexion Concealer "Light/Medium"
I am almost finished with this. It is a bit hard to get all the concealer out of the tube so I might have to cut it in half later on to get every little bit. I really like this concealer and just recently bought three more as backups, which you will see in my haul post soon. I really like how well this concealer covers and how it doesn't irritate my pimples.
◊ Almay Clear Complexion Concealer + Treatment Gel "Light/Medium"
I know that in my previous review, I said that I didn't really like the concealer but now my feelings have changed a bit. The reason why I didn't like it at first was because of the horrid smell but after a while, the scent has descreased and I can't barely detect it anymore. The scent doesn't linger where I apply it anymore. I don't why they even made it with that scent because it was just horrible but I'm glad that smell is pretty much gone. The concealer covers well. I would just rub my finger onto the concealer and apply it to my blemishes. The treatment gel is pretty good as well. It works like any other drugstore acne treatment that I have tried.

◊ MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 "NW20"
This is a bit light for my skintone but I love it for my undereye area. I can see why people love this concealer. I really like how well it covers (even though I don't have any dark circles or bags under my eyes) and how well it brightens my eye area up. Its creamy but not as creamy and thick as the Benefit Erase Paste but the MAC one has yellow undertones so it looks better on my skintone.

EYES:
◊ Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Shadow Primer
I really love this eye primer. Its not too thick or too watery. Its just the perfect consistency for an eye primer plus it really makes my shadows more pigmented. If you never tried this before, you should really give it a try. Plus I really like the packaging. Its like a lip gloss applicator where you would squeeze out the product, which I find more sanitary.
◊ ULTA Kohl Eye Pencil "Halo"
I have been loving this as a highlight for the inner corner of my eyes. It has a shimmery finish so its perfect to use to give your eyes that wide awake look. Its so creamy and pigmented that it doesn't take long to apply. Plus I never have to tug or go over anything. It stays on pretty well but the only complaint that I have about it is that its not retractable. I hate eyeliners that need sharpening because I feel like it wastes so much product whenever you sharpen them. Other than that, I really like it.
◊ Revlon Brow Fantasy "Dark Brown"
This is a product that I have been using a lot during March. I am not sure if I can say that I love it. I am not sure how I feel about this because I could have easily just bought the wrong shade. I am not sure if there is another shade darker than Dark Brown. For my brows, Dark Brown has some red undertones to it (especialy in the brow gel), which doesn't look great on my brows. If there was another shade, I would probably like this product. The pencil is pretty easy to use but I still feel like the mini brush in the ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit is way more easy to control and use. This also comes with a brow gel, which isn't the right shade. Plus I feel like it doesn't tame my brows that well and sometimes it makes my brow hairs dried. I'll probably end up doing a review on this product later on...
◊ Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara "Black"
I really love this mascara. I don't know if Mary Kay still sells this but if they do, I would probably end up repurchasing this. It gives my lashes some volume while lengthening them a bit. It doesn't make them appear really long but thats okay. Plus what I really like about this mascara is that it doesn't clump on me or flake on me.

SKINCARE:
◊ Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream With Clary Sage
This night cream is really moisturizing. Its especially great for those with dry skin. Even though I do have some dry patches and an oily T-zone, this night cream didn't break me out at all. It doesn't make my skin feel heavy either, which was always a plus. It claims to have a non-greasy formula, which is probably the reason. Since this night cream is so moisturizing, you actually don't need to use a lot.

◊ Clean & Clear Advantage Popped Pimple Relief Drying Paste
Recently, I stopped taking Biotin (mainly because I've been forgeting to LOL) and because of that my skin hasn't been the best lately. Sometimes I would get random pimples all over my face and I get into the habit of popping them when they get too big. I know that popping pimples isn't good so whenever I make that mistake, I always make sure to use this drying paste. It comes out like a cream and dries instantly on the area you apply it too. The reason why I like this is because this seems to be the only drying paste that lasts all night on my face. Whenever I wake it, it still on my face.

FORGET:
◊ Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Intensive Skin Repair Serum
I absolutely do not like this serum. It smells so bad. I don't know what it smells like but its just horrible. I was actually hoping that this would smell like blueberries when I bought it but nope. I asked both my brother and sister what they thought of the smell as well and they didn't like it. The scent does take a while to go away, maybe a minute. Other than that, I will not be repurchasing this. I am just going to try to finish this whole bottle up and hope to never smell it again.

Haul: Clean & Clear Advantage Popped Pimple Drying Paste & Morning Burst Body Wash

Hey everyone! I just wanted to show you guys what I recently bought at Target. I went in just to see what they had for Easter and to see if I could get anything good for my little brother. I did end up walking out with a couple of items, mostly food, and this one beauty item. If you have been with me for a while, then you would know that I love Clean & Clear products. Some of their products have really helped with my skin so when I saw this product in the clearance section, I knew that I had to pick it up. I would have picked up another one but this was the last one. Regular price, it was $6.29 but it was on clearance for $3.14 plus I had a $1 off Clean & Clear coupon, meaning I only paid $2.14 plus tax for these two items. I thought that was a good deal since Clean & Clear Advantage products tend to be around $6 for a little tube for spot pimples.

This comes with the Clean & Clear Advantage Popped Pimple Relief Drying Paste. Since I bought it, I have only tried it once and I like it. I know its not good to pop pimples but sometimes when I get a really big one, I can't help it so this drying paste helps relief the swelling and redness. It also come with a bonus item, which is their Clean & Clear Morning Burst Boost Body Wash. I love this body wash because its great for my back. For some reason, when I use any other body wash, my back tends to get itchy but whenever I use this body wash, I get no rashes on my back. Plus it smells really good. LOL This is a great travel size!

So that is the only beauty item that I bought from Target recently! So far, I am very happy with my purchase. I am so glad with the great price that I paid for these two Clean & Clear items. If you have never tried Clean & Clear before, I recommend giving the brand a chance. Who knows, you might end up liking it.

Hauling At Target (Again!)

Hey everyone! I have been meaning to post up this haul for a few days now but for some reason, it got lost and jumbled in with all my other pictures. Granted I didn't buy anything on sale, except for one clearance item but the majority of the items can still be bought at the same price that I paid for at your Target store as well. This haul was more of a neccessity haul. For some reason, I have been punished lately with back acne. This is the first time that I have ever had any acne on my back. I think it might be because its summer an lately it been getting more hot these past few days, which has been causing oil build-up on my back turning into acne. The body wash that I was currently using, VS Body Wash, was doing nothing for my back acne but irritating it so I decided to try out a couple of samples that I had in my bathroom drawers.

One of the samples that I have been constantly trying was the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Body Wash. Oh my goodness, this product has been a life saver for my back. It has been clearing up the acne. Plus it doesn't irritate or dry out my skin. The sample that I had was blue, which was the Splash one that had the wildberry and guava scent but my Target only had this pink one and an orange one. I of course, decided to give the pink body wash a try becayse I love anything pink. The pink body wash is the Charge one, which is the promegrante and orange zest scent. It smells so good!

The other products that I decided to buy were the St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub. This is for blemish and blackhead control. I had run out of my current jar so I had to go and buy more. I decided to buy two since I use these a lot and plus they expire in 2014 so I am sure that I have enough time to go through both of these jars. I don't really use this on my face that much unless I am trying to wash off really stubborn makeup. The main thing that I use this scrub is for my legs!! I always exfoilate my legs with this before I shave and/or spray tan my legs. Exfoliating my legs with this scrub makes my legs stay hairless longer and makes my spray tan go on more even. Plus it always makes my legs feel so soft whenever I use this! If you are looking for a good leg exfoliater, I definitely reccommend giving this a try! Trust me, you will love it for your legs!

I was also running out on facial cleansers so I bought one as well. I love Clean & Clear and have been using this brand for over 7 years and so far, none of their products have ever failed me. Since I was running low on this, I wanted to re-purchase the Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Oil-Free Scrub. This is great because its gentle enough for my skin for everyday use because its not as strong as a scrub. Plus whats great about this is that it also came with a bonus sample, which is a travel size version of the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Body Wash "Splash". So now I have another one that I can use whenever I am traveling!

Before I left Target, I wanted to walk through the makeup aisles to see if they either had any new products or any products on clearance. My Target store is too lazy to put all the clearance items into bins and onto endcaps so they just leave them with the regular core items. So whenever you want to see if anything is on clearance, you would just have to spot the red clearance stickers on the actual products. Its kind of a hassle becasue sometimes I end up walking past one and not know until I see someone else grabbing for it. Sucks right? I was lucky enough to spot at least one clearance item on the Revlon shelves and it was the Revlon ColorStay Nail Polish "030 Calla Lily". It was on clearance for $4.12 but I had a $2 off Target coupon and a $2 off manufacturer coupon, so I only paid $0.12 plus tax. Yay me! **London Tipton moment here** LOL If you didn't know already, Calla Lily is a gorgeous sheer greyish-white polish with tiny multi-colored shimmer. I haven't tried this out yet but I have heard that it looks gorgeous on the nails.

So that is all for my Target haul. I am glad that I walked out of Target buying 99.9% products that were neccessities and less want. Its always hard walking into a Target and not getting everything that you see that is pretty, well atleast for me. So I am very proud of myself, although the next time I probably won't have as much self-control. LOL Definitely stay tuned for that future haul to see if my will power was strong enough.

CVS Clearance Haul (Feat. Kiss, PF, Clean & Clear, Maybelline, CG, Revlon, L'Oreal, and Essence of Beauty)

Hey everyone! So its that time of year again! CVS is having their clearance sale again! Yay! This time, they don't really have that much but thats fine with me. Its better than not having anything on clearance at all. What makes this clearance sale even better is that CVS is printing out 30% off entire purchase at the red box machine. Even though these 30% off coupons can't be used on sale and promotion products, they can be used on clearance items, which makes the deals even better! But if you use manufacturer coupons, then you would save even more money!

WHAT I BOUGHT:
✰ PF Hydrating & Balancing Moisturizer SPF 15
✰ PF Ultra-Hydrating Day & Night Cream
I bought both of them items because they were only $4.99USD each. Regularly priced, they were $19.99USD plus tax. I don't know why they are on clearance when they were just recently released but I guess PF is discontinuing the Moisture Balance line since CVS tends to put discontinued items on clearance. I might give these to my mom since I already bought the SPF15 one a few weeks ago and don't really need a back-up.

✰ Clean & Clear Advantage Popped Pimple Relief Gel Pen
This was under $3USD but I had a $1USD off any Clean & Clear coupon, which made the deal even sweeter. I love Clean & Clear so I bought this to try out. I really like how its meant for on-the-go. Plus it does dry to a white film like the other Clean & Clear acne stuff that I have. This one dries to a clear film so its great to use whenever and you don't have to worry about it peeling and looking nasty.

✰ CoverGirl Shadow Quad "225 Berries & Cream"
This was only $3.15USD and I had a $1USD of any CG product, so I only paid $2.15USD plus tax. Yeah! I bought this because I haven't tried CG shadows much and I also don't have a lot of purple shade shadows.

✰ Maybelline Stylish Smokes Quad "12Q Plum Smokes"
This was on clearance for $4.15USD and with my coupon for $1USD off, I only paid $3.15USD plus tax! I love these Maybelline quads so I always try to buy a couple whenever they are on clearance. Again, I bought more purple shades because I don't have a lot of purple shadows in my collection.

✰ Kiss Nail Dress "Princess"
I wasn't sure about buying this since I already know how to do cheetah/leopard print designs on my nails but these have fake "studs" looking bumps on the nail stickers. I am not sure if I am going to keep these or give them away. This was $3.49USD but with my $1USD off coupon, I only paid $2.49USD plus tax.

✰ Essence of Beauty Smokey Eye Shadow Brush (X2)
These were $1.75USD each. When I got home, I found out these inside the packaging, there is an $1USD coupon for any Essence of Beauty brush and it has no expiration date. I am definitely going to be using these coupons to buy more of these brushes. I actually like these kind of brushes since they are great and all you would typically need for an eye look. The shadow brush is great for all over the lid and to apply shadow onto the crease. Plus the other end is great for applying darker colors onto the outer corner and blending.

✰ L'Oreal Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Skin Primer
I bought the one meant for light skin. They have another one for medium to darker skintone but since I have light, fair skin I bought the one meant for light skin. I never tried this primer before but have always wanted to get it. I never could justify paying over $12USD for a drugstore primer that I might or might not like so since it was on clearance, I knew I had to get it. This was $6.65USD but with my $2USD off coupon, I only paid $4.64USD plus tax. If you have tried this primer before, definitely let me know if its any good or not.

✰ Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick "590 Lilac Champagne"
I never tried this line of lipsticks from Revlon before but since it was on clearance, I bought it to try out. I bought the one that has a creme finish since I don't really like lip products that give off frosty finishes. This was $2.49USD but with my $1USD off coupon, I only paid $1.49USD plus tax. That is definitely a great deal for a Revlon lipstick!

February 2012 Favorites

Hey everyone! Whoa I just realized that I haven't done a monthly favorites on my website. Its just always so hard to keep up with and most of the time, my favorites are usually the same. LOL I don't know if its a good thing that a makeup product can take you forever to finish up or if its a bad thing. Haha, all you makeupaholics and makeup hoarders know what I am talking about! So since I have been loving so many favorites this month, I decided that I wanted to share them. Plus I wanted to start doing these kind of posts on my makeup blog as well. I have been loving posting on my makeup blog and thank you to all of my gorgeous followers out there! I really appreciate all of the support!

Okay onto my FEBRUARY FAVORITES!! I have a bunch of products that I would like to show you! I have stuff ranging from makeup to skincare products. Plus I also have a random non-beauty favorite as well and its two books that I just finished reading. I didn't take any pictures of them because well, I forgot too. LOL The two books that I loved reading in February were the The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks. Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors and its been so long since I have read a book by him. Plus The Hunger Games has a movie coming out and I wanted to see what all the hype was surrounding the series. I pretty much finished the book in two days and can't wait for the movie to come out and also to read the second book in the series. If you have read any of these books, please let me know what you think about them!

Okay now, onto my actual health & beauty favorites! I have a bunch of favorites ranging from skincare to makeup products. The products that I have been loving in the month of February and probably onto March as well are (split into categories):

LOTIONS & PERFUMES:

(L-R) BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom, VS Noir Tease, VS Ravishing Love

BBW BODY SPRAY IN JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOM
I love this body spray. It smells so good. I have been using it a lot and it barely looks like I even made a dent in it, judging from the pictures. LOL According to the BBW website, Japanese Cherry Blossom is "a seductive and mysterious floral scent inspired by the exotic gardens of Japan. The top notes are Asian Pear, Fuji Apple and Ume Plumb. The middle notes are Japanese Cherry Blossom, Butterfly Lily, Kyoto Rose, Mimosa Petals. Last but not least, the dry notes are Vanilla Rice, Imperial Amber, Silk Musk, Cinnamon Incense, Himalayan Cedarwood and creamy Sandalwood. All-in-all, Japanese Cherry Blossom smells so good! If you haven't smelled this before, definitely go to your BBW store and give this scent a whiff.

VS SEXY LITTLE THINGS NOIR TEASE
I have this scent in the set. I bought it a couple of months ago and I love this set. It smells so sexy. Plus I just love the packaging on the Tease. I also have the full-size of this but I haven't touched it yet. I have been mainly carrying the mini version in my purse and using it during the day. According to the description on the VS website: "Flirt. Play. Tease! Show it off in this thrilling twist of juicy fruits and seductive florals. It’s an enchanting blend of black vanilla, frozen pear and blooming gardenia."

VS ULTA MOISTURIZING HAND & BODY CREAM IN RAVISHING LOVE
As you can see from my pictures, I have the old packaging of this scent. I bought it during one of VS Semi-Annual sales a while back. I use it to moisturize my body after getting out of the shower. Its been great during the cold months. It really keeps my body moisturized during the day plus this scent smells so good. On the actual packaging, it describes the scent as "promegrante, blackberry and liliac."

FOUNDATION & BRUSH:

Almay Clear Complextion Foundation, ELF Studio Powder Brush

ALMAY CLEAR COMPLEXTION MAKEUP WITH BLEMISH HEAL TECHNOLOGY IN 220 NEUTRAL
I have been using this foundation almost everyday in February and I am still using it in March. It is such a great foundation. I also have this in the old packaging. The ones in the new packaging comes with pumps, which is even better! This is a great foundation for when I have active pimples on my face and I don't want to wear any heavy foundation that might irritate them. This foundation has 0.6% Saliclic Acid, which is great because its helps treat acne. I feel like with this foundation, my pimples go away faster. I will try to post a separate review on this soon.

ELF STUDIO FOUNDATION BRUSH
Oh my goodness, I love this brush! I have been using this brush for over a year now. Its such a great brush to apply liquid foundation and powder foundation. Plus its only $3USD plus tax, which is super affordable. This is the only brush that I ever use to apply my foundation. I have tried other brushes but nothing can ever compare to this one.

BLUSHES:

PHYSICIANS FORMULA HAPPY BOOSTER GLOW & MOOD BOOSTING BLUSH IN ROSE
I bought this last year when it first came out because of all the hype. I just started using it again in February and I love it. It gives my that perfect color on my cheeks for the winter. Its very pigmented so I always need to be careful when applying this. This used to have a smell that was supposed to make anyone happy whenver they apply it to their cheeks but the scent went away on my blush. I just love the hearts on this and I love the hot pink packaging!

RIMMEL LASTING FINISH BLENDABLE POWDER BLUSH & HIGHLIGHTER IN 006 AUTUMN CATWALK
I just love how there are three shades that I can either use separately or all together. Its just such a pretty shade. Plus I love how it has shimmer in it, which is great for those times when I feel like my face is looking somewhat drab. LOL I also did a review on this with swatches.

MASCARAS:

(L-R) Rimmel Lash Accelerator, Almay Intense i-Color

RIMMEL LASH ACCELERATOR IN 003 EXTREME BLACK
I love this mascara. I always end up going back to this one. It makes my lashes so long. I wouldn't say that it makes my lashes grow long because I haven't noticed any difference but I love how black it makes them look. Plus it holds the curl all day.

ALMAY INTENSE I-COLOR LIGHT INTERPLAY TECHNOLOGY MASCARA IN 031 BLACK FLASH
This mascara gives my lashes volume, which I really like. Its meant for people who have brown eyes but its just a regular black mascara, so I think it can pretty much work for any eye color (but don't quote me on that LOL). It doesn't give me that much length so sometimes I would like to use this first and then top it off with Rimmel Lash Accelerator.

EYEBROWS:

ELF STUDIO EYEBROW KIT

ELF STUDIO EYEBROW KIT IN DARK
I love this! I use it everyday and can never leave the house without this on. I feel like this product really makes my eyebrows define my face way better. I have a review on this product, as well as swatches.

MAKEUP REMOVERS:

ELF STUDIO MAKEUP REMOVER CLEANSING CLOTHS
These are the best makeup remover wipes ever! I have a bunch of these in my bathroom. I always buy a bunch whenever ELF has promotions online. I have gone though so many of these. I have tried a bunch of other makeup remover wipes and I like these more. These are $3USD for 20 wipes. They don't irritate my eyes or anything.

CLEAN & CLEAR MAKEUP DISSOLVING FOAMING CLEANSER OIL-FREE
I bought this one at Big Lots a while back and have been using it everyday. I have tried looking for these everywhere but I can never find it. I think its discontinued and the only place where I have seen these are at Big Lots. I haven't seen it anymore but hopefully they will restock them because I love these. It has a pump and it comes out as a foam, which I really like because I feel like it cleans my face better and helps get the makeup off more.

SKINCARE:

(L-R) Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer, Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10

YES TO TOMATOES CLEAR SKIN DAILY BALANCING MOISTURIZER
I use this everyday as my day moisturizer. I always apply this onto my face in the morning right after I wash my face. Its the perfect moisturizer for me. Plus it smells really good. To me, it smells like cinnamon. I also have a review on this.

CLEAN & CLEAR PERSA-GEL 10
I use this for when I have a pimple or whenever I feel one coming on. It makes my pimples go away faster. It has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, which is the maximum strength for acne medication. It says that you can use it during the day under makeup but I would never do that because when it dries, it leaves flaky white particles on where you applied it. I only use this at nighttime right before I go to bed and wash it off in the morning.

WalMart Haul (1.22.12)

Hey everyone! So I have been wanting to go to WalMart for a while to see if they had any good sales going on. I didn't get that much because it was kind of crowded and it was hot in the store. I just wanted to get all the stuff that I needed and get back out into the fresh air. LOL Not everything that I bought at WalMart is going to be shown here. I just bought vitamins, astringent, Kikoman soy sauce, and some floss. I am only going to be showing the vitamins and astringent.

What I bought (health & beauty items only):
❀Caltrate Calcium & Vitamin D
I have been looking for some Calcium vitamins that are chewables. I hate taking pills, especially large pills so its a great relief to find some in chewables. This came with 165 chewable tablets with three different flavors: cherry, orange, and fruit punch. The pills are pretty big but thats fine since they are chewables. I have tried these and have been taking them since I bought them. They aren't that good but that's fine. They do taste like their intended flavor but they also have that powdery residue afterwards, which water always cures. LOL I can't remember the exact price of this but I do know that it was $14USD to $15USD.

❀Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent
I am so sad about this product. The cashier has put all my items in one bag and on the way home, I noticed that it has opened and spilled half of its content (as you can see from the picture, its now only half full) all over in the plastic bag. I wish that Clean & Clear had put a saftely seal around the cap or something. I am just glad that it didn't soak into my other products. I had to clean everything up on the ride home, which was a pain because I had cuts on my fingers and lets just say, that the astringent burned like crazy! I haven't tried out this product yet so I don't know if it would actually do anything for my pimples.

So I hope you all like my haul. It is pretty small but I am happy about the products that I bought, except for the Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent since it opened and spilled in the bag on the way home. I am hoping that the Calcium chewables will help out because I don't really drink milk. Plus I am getting older and I need all the Calcium that I can get. Have any of you ever tried these chewables? What do you think about Clean & Clear? Have you tried this astringent before?
