Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation & Pressed Powder

Hey everyone! I have been meaning to get this review up for the longest. It was intentionally supposed to be a "First Impressions" post but since its been week, I decided to change it to a review since I have tried out both products for about a month already, if not longer. If you don't know already, Revlon Nearly Naked is a new line from Revlon. I think the foundation and pressed powder came out in January 2012 so I was super excited to have gotten it on sale when it first came out. One thing that I do hate doing is buying things when they first come out because I never get the chance to check out swatches and reviews but I couldn't help buying both the liquid foundation and the pressed powder since it was such a great deal at the time.

WHAT:
"Undetectable coverage. Unbelievable complexion. Makeup so refreshingly light it melts right in, creating a fresh, even look. Pressed powder blends seamlessly with a lightweight feel." - According to Revlon.com

WHERE:
You can find these products anywhere Revlon cosmetics are sold. You can buy both from CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Walmart stores. I am sure that you can find these products at other stores as well but those are the only stores that I can think of at the moment.

PRICE:
I bought mines on sale for $6.99 each with $2 ECBs back at CVS a few weeks ago. I think the regular price of both of these products are $9.99 each but I am not sure and prices vary by stores and region
.
SHADES:
There are sixteen shades for the foundation for this line. For the setting powder, there are six shades according to the Revlon website but so far, I have only spotted four shades on the displays. I guess they are planning on coming out with two more later on. For me, I bought 150 Nude for the foundation and 010 Fair for the setting powder. I actually wanted to buy 020 Light because I was afraid that Fair might be too light for me but the CVS store that I went to was sold out of that shade. Luckily, Fair isn't too light for my skin tone so it worked out perfectly.

THOUGHTS ON REVLON NEARLY NAKED FOUNDATION:
I love this foundation. Its so lightweight yet if you layer, it doesn't have the appearance of your skin being caked up. When I first heard of this foundation, I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it since as you can see, my skin does have redness and acne at some times. What got me curious about it was that some people were claiming that it was going to be the drugstore version of Urban Decay Naked. I don't have Naked but I have tried a couple of samples of it and I really like it. The only thing with the Naked foundation is that you can't really layer it on because it does cake up. With the Nearly Naked, you can wear two layers (I haven't tried more than two so I wouldn't know how it would look with more than two layers) without having your face look like you caked on makeup. What I love about the foundation is that its not heavy but not watery like a tinted moisturizer either. I bought it in the shade 150 Nude but for some reason, it looks really white on my face, in the pictures. I think it was the lighting. With one coat, Nearly Naked does cover up pretty well. Its covers up my redness and my acne as you can see in my picture. Whenever I wear this, I would always use two coats because I have freckles on my cheeks and I like to cover them up. I love how this doesn't make me shiny throughout the day and it doesn't give me the feeling like its clogging my pores. It feels so natural on my skin and doesn't have that dewy finish. I have seen other first impressions videos where some people have claimed that it doesn't control their oil or shine during the day. It looks so natural on the face but for those who have really oily skin, I would definitely recommend using their Nearly Naked pressed powder in combination with the foundation to set the makeup.

THOUGHTS ON REVLON NEARLY NAKED PRESSED POWDER:
This is a great setting powder! I love using it with my other liquid foundations as well. Its so lightweight that you can't even feel that you added extra product to your face. Its not chalky like other pressed powders that I have tried so this is perfect for my skin. It keeps my face matte all day and shine-free as well but keep in mind, my skin doesn't really get oily throughout the day. I'm not one of those people who has to blot their face every few hours unless its a really really hot day. This powder feels so silky whenever I apply it onto my face. I really love this pressed powder and apply this with my EcoTools Powder Brush, which is a huge brush. I really like how this powder barely has any fallout and applies so nicely on my skin. I love how when I apply this pressed powder onto my face, it doesn't give my face that powdered look.

Overall, I really love both of these products but to tell you the truth, I tend to use the pressed powder more than the actual foundation. I just love setting my other liquid foundations with this pressed powder. It makes my face look so natural and shine-free. In my opinion, I think that if you are looking for really lightweight foundation and don't really need full coverage, I would suggest this line but if you are a person who loves thick and needs the full coverage, you might not like the Nearly Naked line. Keep this in mind that for concealing old scars or acne, you would still need to use concealer. If you are on the lookout for a really good affordable, drugstore pressed powder, I would definitely recommend the Nearly Naked pressed powder.

    1. Haha definitely let me know how you end up loving it, if you do decide to get it. I actually like this one better than my Lumi and I know how much you love that foundation.

  2. I love this product. I have dry skin and the foundation/powder combo works perfect. The only thing I dislike and unfortunately probably will not purchase this again because of it, is not having a pump. I hate dispensing foundation on my hand without much control. I always get to much or to little. :(

    Take Care and great review!

  3. I love how natural the foundation looks on you. Now my question is how long does it last on your face before it starts fading?

    1. Well actually my face doesn't get oily much so most, if not all liquid foundations last all day on my face. I usually put on my foundation around 8am and wash my face around 10pm-11pm so foundations last that long on my face. I am not sure if that really helps you. Plus I always set my foundations with a powder so that helps it last as well.

  5. The coverage of the foundation looks great. I have the pressed powder in Light but I feel it's a bit too orangey. :( Great review anyway!

    1. Sorry to hear that the pressed powder is orange on you. Glad that you like the foundation. Have you tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder? I have that one and I love it more than the Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder.
