Lisa's August 2012 Product Hits
Hey everyone! Can you believe that its already September? The next thing we know we are all going to be doing our December 2012 Hits (or aka Favorites). Isn't that crazy? This year is going fast, way too fast in my opinion. What do you guys think? Is this year going by fast or not fast enough? You may have notice something different with the title. Usually whenever I do these monthly posts, I always call them "Favorites" but this month and maybe so on, I decided to call it "Hits" instead. I thought that maybe it would add some kick to the title. LOL Yes I am weird like that. What do you guys think? Should I just stick it to "Favorites" or for now on, call it "Hits"?
As you can see for this month, I decided to constantly use up some of my new or products that I recently bought but I also wanted to keep in some old products as well. If you haven't notice already, I haveen't been hauling as much as before. Plus I still need to post up some of my old hauls. The pictures are just taking up too much room. Since I haven't been buying anything, I am going to try to post up my old hauls so keep an eye out for those. Hopefully, they won't be annoying.
Well, okay lets get onto my product hits! I am going to do everything into catergories because it makes everything more organized. First, I am going to talk about face products, cheek products, and so on. You guys get the drift since this is how I usually do my monthly posts. If you guys don't like it this way, please let me know and I will change it. Or if you guys would like to add anything, plese let me know as well.
FACE:
Sephora Silk Blush/Bronzer Duo "Argentinean Duo"
First off, let me just say that this compact is huge. This is the biggest compact that I have in my makeup collection. LOL Its even slightly bigger than the Sephora+Pantone Blush Duo compact. The only things that are bigger than this are my palettes and they don't really count. This compact is really great for the summer because it comes with an orangey shimmer blush and a semi matte bronzer. To me, the bronzer does have a little bit of shimmer but its barely noticable. I have been using the bronzer to contour my face and the blush on my cheeks. Expect a review with swatches on this compact soon.
Almay Clear Complexion Concealer "Light-Medium"
I love this concealer! I love using this to cover up my acne and scars. The coverage is pretty good and the texture is really good. I hate concealers that are too creamy or too liquidy so this is my favorite. I use this everyday and will definitely re-purchase once I run out. If you haven't tried this concealer, consider giving it a try!
Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation "150 Classic Ivory"
This foundation is a bit too light for way but I always use bronzer as an all over powder anyways so its all good. This foundation is pretty good and definitely creamy. Its a little thick but the coverage is medium so I never need a lot of product whenever using this. If you would like to see a review and before/after pictures using this, definitely let me know.
CHEEKS:
Rimmel London Lasting Finish Blendable Powder Blush & Highlighter "006 Autumn Catwalk"
This is one of my favorite pink blushes. Plus it comes with an added highlighter so I never need to apply a highlighter later. I like to swirl my brush into all three colors and it gives the perfect pink glow for my cheeks! If you would like to see my review/swatches on this blush, CLICK HERE.
NYC Blushable Creme Stick "645U Big Apple Blush"
Since its summer and its been crazy hot out here where I live, I have been using a creme blush underneath my powder blushes to make them last longer on my cheeks. This blushable creme stick is so easy to apply and blend. Although this product is discontinued, some people have been spotting it at their Dollar Tree stores. So if you are curious about this or have been wanting to try it, I suggest going there to check it out.
Philosophy The Color Of Grace Shimmering Face Powder "Amazing Grace"
This is defnitely one of my favorite highlighters. I have just been introduced to the highlighting world a couple of months ago and I have been loving it so much that I have been buying highlighters left and right. This is the perfect pink highlighter for my cheeks, especially whenever I am using pink blushes, which is 95% of the time. I do love my pink blushes! Amazing Grace looks gorgeous on the top of my cheekbones and gives them the perfect glow.
EYES:
Too Faced Glamour To Go 2 Palette
This was the first high-end product that I had bought when I first started getting into makeup. I bought it when it first came out and you can see that I have barely hit pan on it. The only pan that I have hit is on one of the lipglosses. I really wish that Too Faced had the actual names of the eyeshadows, lip glosses, and blush on the palette because there are some shades that I am really loving and would like to repurchase. If you didn't know already, this palette comes with 8 shimmery eye shadows, 4 lip glosses, and a powder blush. The lip glosses and blush actually slide out from a compartment underneath the eyeshadows, which makes this a great travel palette.
Maybelline EyeStudio Creme Shadows "05 Flash Of Forest"
This comes with 3 creme shadows. All three shadows are easily blendable and very pigmented. Plus they don't crease or fade on my eye lids, which is always a plus. This comes with a pale shimmery yellowish-gold, a frosty green, and a dark brown creme shadow. I love using these as bases for my powder shadows and/or sometimes just using these alone. If I don't have enough time, I would just use all three. I would apply the first as my browbone and inner corner highlight. Then I would apply the middle shdow onto my lid and the brown into my crease and darken it a bit in my outer corner.
Maybellune The Falsies Volume Express Waterproof Mascara "Black Drama"
I have been using this mascara a lot, especially whenever I go to the beach. I don't like wearing a lot of makeup at the beach but I always have to have waterproof mascara on. I hate going anywhere without mascara on because my lashes are so sparse and bare looking. I have been using this on my bottom lashes as well but not as much because sometimes it would end up smudging.
NAILS:
China Glaze Nail Polish "625 For Audrey"
I have constantly been wearing this polish on my nails and on my toes. It is just the perfect color for the summer. I have been getting complements whenever I wear this shade. For Audrey is just the perfect shade to wear at the beach or anywhere during the summer. If you would like to see swatches, CLICK HERE.
LEGS:
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs "Tan Glow"
For the summer, we all need gorgeous sunkissed tan legs. Especially if we are planning to wear shorts, skirts, and/or dresses during these hot days. Since my legs are not the most perfect legs, I have been using this to give them that airbrush perfect legs look. I have scars and bug bites on my legs and this is just the perfect product to give me the confidence to go outside wearing shorts. Even though my legs are pale and borderline blindingly white, I always use the Tan Glow one. The tan glow shade is mainly for medium to tan skin tones but this shades gives my legs the pefect bronzed glow. Don't worry its not dark. If you are planning on giving these a try, I definitely recommend getting the tan glow shade. This is my fourth bottle and I will forever repurchase!
BEAUTY SUPPLEMENT:
NatureMade Superior Potency Biotin 5000 mcg
These have done wonders for my skin. I used to break out constantly but ever since taking these, I have only been breaking out around my period time. I have always had long and soft, shiny hair so I don't really know if this has done anything for that. Keep in mind that even though Biotin worked for me, that doesn't mean that you will get the same results. Before taking these, I reccommend seeing asking a specialist first. PERFUME:
VS Noir Tease Eau De Parfum
I love this scent. To me, its definitely a sexy smell. I love wearing this on nights. This is my second bottle of this and I even bought the set as well. Definitely give this scent a try the next time you are shopping at Victoria's Secret.
So that is all for my August 2012 Hits! I hope you all liked it! If you would like to see reviews and/or swatches of any of these products discussed, definitely let me know. Also let me know if you have tried and/or been wanting to try because I would love to know. Also, if you have any favorites, tell me below! As always, see you next time!
