Spotted: New Neutrogena Products

Hey everyone! I just wanted to show you guys some new products from Neutrogena. Now I have never tried any Neutrogena lip products before so I don't really know how good these are. Recently, Neutrogena came out with these Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks.

If you have tried these, definitely let me know how they compare. I heard that they are somewhat similar to the Clinique Chubby Sticks, Tarte LipSurgences, and the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. On this display, there are eight shades for this line. The shades are:

  • 10 Juicy Peach
  • 20 Fresh Papaya
  • 30 Sweet Watermelon
  • 40 Bright Berry
  • 50 Warm Caramel
  • 60 Soft Raspberry
  • 70 Plum Perfect
  • 80 Rich Raisin

All of these shades look pretty wearable but I just wish that they had came out with more pink or red shades. I think that these shades in the display are great for the fall and winter but I am surprised that the didn't come up with other shades since spring and summer are coming up. What do you guys think? Have you seen this display at your stores yet?

They also came out with the Crease Proof Eye Shadow and the Healthy Lengths Mascara. I haven't tried any of these products before or any makeup from Neutrogena. I have heard that their foundation is pretty good. I think their foundation is probably one of their most popular items.

For their Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow, there are only four new shades available as of right now. I don't know if they are going to expand their shade range. In my opinion, all the shades look quite wearable. There is "Perfect Pink," which looks like your perfect baby pink. "Constant Copper" looks like your muted down copper. "Lasting Taupe" looks like a brownish-taupe and "Stay-Put Plum" is a purple. These claim to have a built--in primer and doesn't crease or fade. What I find interesting about these is that they are supposed to instantly brighten and revive eyes. The new product on the display is their Neutrogena Healthy Lengths Mascara. These claim to give you 100% longer lashes, which to me is a huge claim. I have always wanted a mascara that will give me longer lashes because I have very short, Asian lashes. If you guys have any suggestions for mascaras that work for you, please let me know! These supposedly strengthen your lashes so they could grow to their fullest potential.

Those are all the products that I saw on this display. I have to admit that I am quite interested in this mascara because of the claims that it has. Plus I never tried a Neutrogena mascara before so this should be quite interesting. Let me know if you have spotted this new display in your area already and have you tried out any of these products yet.

Haul: ULTA (Again!)

Hey everyone! Yes, I did it again! I got my butt back to Ulta and I am so glad that I did! The first time I went for the 40% off sale, the majority of the NYX displays were empty. I didn't know that Ulta was going to restock their inventory but I was so happy that they did. Ulta didn't stock everything since there was still some empties but I am glad that I got almost everything that I needed (more like WANTED)! For those that didn't know, during April 1 - April 7, 2012, Ulta had a 40% off sale on NYX, Almay, and Revlon cosmetics! The sale is now over. I didn't buy anything from Almay because I already have a bunch of Almay products (that I am loving) and haven't finished up yet. I did want to get the Almay Smart Shade Perfect & Correct Primer but as of right now, I have so many face primers that I need to finish up first. Instead of buying any Almay products, I decided to just pick up a couple of Revlon and NYX products that I have been wanting to try out.

What I bought:
REVLON COLORBURST LIPGLOSS IN 022 SUNSET PEACH
This is a really pretty shade. Sunset Peach a peachy shade with shimmers. It isn't that pigmented as you would see in the tube but it gives my lips a nice sheer wash of color.

REVLON PHOTOREADY SCULPTING BLUSH PALETTE IN 001 PINK ROSE
I haven't tried this yet but I really do like the concept of having a blush, bronzer, and highlighter all together in one handy compact. I have really been into using highlighters so this is definitely a good product for me. I don't know why the shade is called "Pink Rose" because the blush is just pink. Its a gorgeous pink that I can't wait to wear on my cheeks. I never tried anything from the PhotoReady line before so this will be my first.

NYX ROUGE CREAM BLUSH IN GLOW
I actually wanted both Glow and BoHo Chic but they didn't have BoHo Chic in stock. I have never tried any of NYX cream blushes before and I have heard that these are pretty popular. Glow is a pretty shade. It is a bright, warm pink! It is really pigmented.

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM IN ANTWERP
I bought two of these Soft Matte Lip Creams in my previous Ulta haul. I wasn't sure how I felt about these so I decided to buy another to help me decide. Yes, my logic is weird. LOL Anterp is a pretty coral shade. I think that its great for the Spring and the Summer.

NYX SHARPENER
I bought this for the jumbo eye pencil that I bought. I heard that most sharpeners didn't fit for the jumbo eye pencils so I didn't want to risk my chance and not get one, especially since it was on sale. When I got home, I found a sharpener that I bought a while back at Big Lots that might have the same size holes as the NYX one. I am going to try to sharpen my jumbo pencil in the Big Lots one and if it works, I am definitely returning the NYX sharpener.

NYX MEGA SHINE LIP GLOSS IN BEIGE
I haven't tried this line of lip glosses yet but I am excited. I remember EmilyNoel83 raving about this shade in one of her videos so I knew I had to pick this one up. I don't know why NYX would name this "Beige" since its definitely not a beige shade. Its a pink shade and will probably work for many skin tones. Its pretty pigmented and moisturizing. I will post a review with swatches soon.

NYX JUMBO EYE PENCIL IN 608 COTTAGE CHEESE
I am so excited that I finally got my hands on a jumbo eye pencil. I intentionally wanted the shade Milk but it was all sold out and there was only one Cottage Cheese left. Cottage Cheese is basically a shimmery, frosty white. I am going to be using this for the inner corners of my eyes and maybe on the waterline to make my eyes look more awake. I haven't tried this as an eyeshadow base but then again, my eye lids don't get oily so both powder and cream shadows tend to stay all day on my lids.

NYX BLUSH IN PINCHED
I wanted to pick up another blush from NYX because I heard that they were really good. I wasn't intentionally going to pick up this shade but the others that were left over were already similar to the blushes that I have at home in my collection. Some bloggers have mentioned that Pinched is a dupe to NARS Orgasm but I don't have the NARS blush so I can't say anything for sure. Pinched is a peachy pink with gold shimmer. There is definitely a lot of gold shimmer in this blush. I haven't tried it yet but hopefully, I won't end up looking like a disco ball whenever I do wear it. LOL

Well, I hope you all end up liking my Ulta haul! I can't wait to try out everything that I got! I am so excited to finally have gotten my hands on a couple more NYX products! I also bought some other products at Ulta a few weeks ago when Ulta was having their 21 Days Of Beauty sale. I bought this when they first had the sale on the first day. Ulta was selling the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette for $20USD plus tax instead of $36USD plus tax. I have always wanted one of these Too Faced palettes and am so glad that I finally got my hands on one. I have been seeing other people's hauls on this and that their palette came with a sample of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer but mines didn't for some reason, which is weird. I am guessing if the palette did come with a sample, then somebody either opened it and took the sample out or returned it back to Ulta but kept the sample for themselves. What do you guys think? I also bought the Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF15. I have been buying moisturizers like crazy but so far, my favorite one is the Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer. Since the Yes To Moisturizer doesn't contain any SPF, I thought that the Biore one would be good to use for the summer. It was on clearance for $5USD plux tax. Hopefully it works out!

What do you think? Have you tried any of these products before? Let me know what you think!

Almay Intense i-Color Shadow Stick in 020 For Blue Eyes

Hey everyone! A few months back, Almay released a new line of shadow sticks. I got mines in a bonus pack with a mascara. I was lucky enough to find it on clearance at Target a few weeks ago. Almay came out with these shadow sticks to be used on certain eye colors to “boost the natural brilliance of your eyes”, but you can basically use any for any eye color, in my opinion. For example, I am brown eyes but I bought the one designed for blue eyes. These are basically sold at stores that sell Almay products. I think the price ranges from $7USD - $9USD, depending on where you buy them. Like I said, I bought mines at Target but I have seen them at CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid, and WalMart.

Almay Intense i-Color Shadow Sticks are dual-ended cream shadows in stick forms. They are retractable so you don’t have to sharpen them. All you have to do is twist and the product comes out. They are very creamy but you have to be careful with them. When I used mines for the first time, one of the tips broke off because its so creamy. I just keep the tip in a sample container because I didn’t want to just throw it away and waste product. Although the are creamy, they are a bit harder (stiffer) than your typical cream shadows. I got the shadow stick in 020 For Blue Eyes.

020 For Blue Eyes comes with a deep bronze on one side and a gold shade on the other. The gold shade is shimmery so it’s a great all-over the lid shade and the bronze is a great crease shade. Both shades are pigmented, as you can see from my swatches. They glide on very easily onto the eye lids without the need of any tugging. Basically what I do is just apply the product onto my eye lids and then blend out with my fingers.

These shadow sticks are hypoallergenic and ophthalmologist tested (but not approved perhaps?). On the actual packaging, it says that these shadow sticks “won’t crease, fade or smudge all day long.” For me, lasting power is decent. I don’t have oily eye lids so cream shadows tend to last all day on me. However, throughout the day, the gold shade did slightly fade on my lids. At the end of the night, there was just basically shimmer on my lids. Again, lasting power is different on everyone, depending on how oily your lids get. I think these shadow sticks are probably a great alternative for those who don’t like cream shadows in pans because the shadow sticks are more sanitary since you don’t have to stick your fingers into the pans to get product. You just use the shadow stick and apply it to your lids and blend with your fingers. But if you like your cream shadows to be very creamy, then I suggest too just stick to your usual cream shadows because like I said, these shadow sticks tend to be on the drier side of cream shadows.

So that is all for my review. I hope you like it and that it was helpful for you. Hopefully you will be able to see the colors from my swatches. It took a while to get the pictures true to color. Have you ever tried Almay products? What do you think about their Intense i-Color Shadow Sticks? Would you try 002 for blue eyes?
