Spotted: Physicians Formula YouthWear Spotless Makeup

Hey everyone! Polka dot, polka dot, polka dot, alfro! Haha, sorry I am watching Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and they were singing this song while I am writing this post and I just had to say it, especially since this new product line has polka dots (or spots) all over their packaging. It was just too funny not to say. I have seen that movie so many times with my little brother and we love it each time. It's such a funny and great family movie, if you guys haven't watched it yet.

Anyways, onto the makeup! Let's just say how cute and interesting the packaging is with all the purple spots all over. Physicians Formula has come out with new products for their YouthWear line, it's the YouthWear Spotless. They came out with new foundations, powders, and concealers. I have tried the original YouthWear foundation and I love mixing it with my CoverGirl 3-in1 foundation. I might actually want to try this new foundation once I use up the one that I have and pick up the concealer as well.

The foundations come in three shades: light, medium beige, and medium. I think the concealer only came In two shades: light and light/medium. I can't exactly remember the shade for the powder but I think it was transcluent. I haven't tried the products yet but I have seen some swatches of the concealer and it looks pretty good, coverage wise. If you have tried any of these products before, please let me know. I would love to know what you think of these products and if you love them! Also as always, Physicians Formula has $3 off peelings on these. I love it when Physicians Formula does that because they help you save money on new products. Thanks for reading!

June-July-August Favorites 2013

Hey everyone! Its been such a long time since I've done a favorites. I think my last one was for May so I decided to just sum up my June, July, and August favorites all in one! Maybe I will just do my favorites every three months instead since its more easier for me to keep up but we will see. Definitely let me know what you guys think. Some of these are new products and some of these are "old" products that you have seen in past monthly favorites. Anyways, lets get on with my favorites!

EYES:
Lorac Mint Collection Eye & Cheek Palette
I love the shadows in this palette. Even though the mint shadow isn't the most pigmented shadow in the palette, I still love it! I just have to use a primer and another base then pat on the mint shadow to get it to show up on my eyes. I love wearing the mint shadow all over my lid and then using the matte brown in my crease and the shimmery brown (underneath the matte brown) in my outer corner. Then I would apply the first shadow as my brow bone highlight. Whenever I wear this eye look, I always get compliments. If you have this palette, you should definitely give this eye look a try. If you don't, you can now find this set at Nordstorm Rack for about half the price.
Stila In The Moment Eye Shadow Palette
I bought this palette a few months ago and I am really liking it. I especially love the first three shadows because every time I use those three for an eye look, I always get compliments on my eyes. This palette is pretty great because it has your purples and neutral shades. I only wish that it had pinks as well instead of the black. I never use black shadows so I always hate it when a palette has one. I love wearing Impulse as an all over lid shade. Its the prettiest shade out of the whole palette and looks especially great on brown eyes.

Coastal Scents 88 Eye Shadow Colors "Warm Palette"
I have really been loving this palette. I think I have probably been using it almost everyday. You will probably see this palette again in my September favorites as well. This palette is definitely great for those who love makeup and for those who are just starting in makeup. This palette has so many eye shadows with different finishes like mattes and shimmers. I love using this for creating matte eye looks since there are so many options to choose from. I have been thinking about getting the other 88 palettes, if you guys have any recommendations, let me know.

Revlon Matte Eye Shadow "001 Vintage Lace"
I love this for my brow bone highlight. Its just the perfect shade and its matte, what more can you ask for! I think I bought this shade from the 99 Cents Store for only a dollar plus tax. I don't know if Revlon still sells this shade but I hope they do because I can see myself hitting pan on this shadow soon.
Anastasia Brow Powder Duo "Dark Brown"
I can definitely see all the hype about this. I have been using it everyday since I bought it. I like to mix both the shades together for my perfect brow shade. I just use the little brush that came in the set and its perfect. It doesn't take me a long time to do my brows. I can make them skinny or more bold. Plus it lasts all day on my bows through the heat, which is perfect since I never have to worry about them melting off or smearing on me through the day. I definitely recommend this.

FACE:
Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette
This palette has everything you need for your cheeks. It has a bronzer, blush, and a highlighter. The bronzer is the perfect shade for contouring, which I do everyday because I want my face to appear slimmer. The blush is a pretty pink and very pigmented. I need a light hand whenever I am using this. The same applies to the highlighter as well. The highlighter is definitely pigmented and shimmery. If you use a heavy hand with this, you will definitely look like a disco ball. If I was traveling, I would definitely bring this since it contains all the products that you would need for your cheeks.

Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder "001 Transparent"
I bought this because I was getting shiny on my forehead and cheeks so I wanted something that would keep me matte all day. I heard a lot about this pressed powder, especially on YouTube so I decided to give it a try. I didn't know what shade to get so I decided to just buy Transparent. It doesn't keep me matte all day but it does keep me shine-free for a couple of hours, which is longer than my Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder.

CoverGirl Outlast 3 in 1 Foundation "825 Buff Beige"
I am not sure if I love love this but so far, I am liking it. I heard so much about this when it came out that I wanted to buy it but of course, I told myself to wait. From all the reviews that I have read and seen, I got the impression that this was going to be medium to full coverage foundation similar to the Revlon ColorStay foundation but its definitely not. I would call this a light to medium coverage foundation since I would always have to apply at least two to three layers to cover the redness on my cheeks and my acne scars. The only reason why I am including this in my August favorites is because it lasts a long time on my face. I will probably be doing a full review on this soon.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara "Extreme Black"
I have so many back-ups of this mascara. I love using this with my other mascaras to make my lashes look longer. The only thing that I don't love about this is that the formula is very wet. If you sneeze after applying this, you will definitely get smudges. It has happened to me a couple of times. LOL Plus I would always have to wait for this mascara to dry before I curl my lashes, which is fine since I would just curl them after I dress. If you are looking for an inexpensive mascara, you should definitely give this a try.

So those are all my favorites for the last few months. LOL Hopefully I don't end up procrastinating again because I really love blogging. Its just hard to keep up with sometimes but I don't want to lose any of you so hopefully, I will be able to have a couple of posts per week. Let me know if you would like to see any reviews or swatches on any of these products featured in this post. I am probably going to be posting up a couple of reviews soon since I have so many that I am behind. Please let me know if you have tried any of these products before and what you think of them. I would love to hear your opinions!

Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation & Pressed Powder

Hey everyone! I have been meaning to get this review up for the longest. It was intentionally supposed to be a "First Impressions" post but since its been week, I decided to change it to a review since I have tried out both products for about a month already, if not longer. If you don't know already, Revlon Nearly Naked is a new line from Revlon. I think the foundation and pressed powder came out in January 2012 so I was super excited to have gotten it on sale when it first came out. One thing that I do hate doing is buying things when they first come out because I never get the chance to check out swatches and reviews but I couldn't help buying both the liquid foundation and the pressed powder since it was such a great deal at the time.

WHAT:
"Undetectable coverage. Unbelievable complexion. Makeup so refreshingly light it melts right in, creating a fresh, even look. Pressed powder blends seamlessly with a lightweight feel." - According to Revlon.com

WHERE:
You can find these products anywhere Revlon cosmetics are sold. You can buy both from CVS, Walgreens, Target, and Walmart stores. I am sure that you can find these products at other stores as well but those are the only stores that I can think of at the moment.

PRICE:
I bought mines on sale for $6.99 each with $2 ECBs back at CVS a few weeks ago. I think the regular price of both of these products are $9.99 each but I am not sure and prices vary by stores and region
.
SHADES:
There are sixteen shades for the foundation for this line. For the setting powder, there are six shades according to the Revlon website but so far, I have only spotted four shades on the displays. I guess they are planning on coming out with two more later on. For me, I bought 150 Nude for the foundation and 010 Fair for the setting powder. I actually wanted to buy 020 Light because I was afraid that Fair might be too light for me but the CVS store that I went to was sold out of that shade. Luckily, Fair isn't too light for my skin tone so it worked out perfectly.

THOUGHTS ON REVLON NEARLY NAKED FOUNDATION:
I love this foundation. Its so lightweight yet if you layer, it doesn't have the appearance of your skin being caked up. When I first heard of this foundation, I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it since as you can see, my skin does have redness and acne at some times. What got me curious about it was that some people were claiming that it was going to be the drugstore version of Urban Decay Naked. I don't have Naked but I have tried a couple of samples of it and I really like it. The only thing with the Naked foundation is that you can't really layer it on because it does cake up. With the Nearly Naked, you can wear two layers (I haven't tried more than two so I wouldn't know how it would look with more than two layers) without having your face look like you caked on makeup. What I love about the foundation is that its not heavy but not watery like a tinted moisturizer either. I bought it in the shade 150 Nude but for some reason, it looks really white on my face, in the pictures. I think it was the lighting. With one coat, Nearly Naked does cover up pretty well. Its covers up my redness and my acne as you can see in my picture. Whenever I wear this, I would always use two coats because I have freckles on my cheeks and I like to cover them up. I love how this doesn't make me shiny throughout the day and it doesn't give me the feeling like its clogging my pores. It feels so natural on my skin and doesn't have that dewy finish. I have seen other first impressions videos where some people have claimed that it doesn't control their oil or shine during the day. It looks so natural on the face but for those who have really oily skin, I would definitely recommend using their Nearly Naked pressed powder in combination with the foundation to set the makeup.

THOUGHTS ON REVLON NEARLY NAKED PRESSED POWDER:
This is a great setting powder! I love using it with my other liquid foundations as well. Its so lightweight that you can't even feel that you added extra product to your face. Its not chalky like other pressed powders that I have tried so this is perfect for my skin. It keeps my face matte all day and shine-free as well but keep in mind, my skin doesn't really get oily throughout the day. I'm not one of those people who has to blot their face every few hours unless its a really really hot day. This powder feels so silky whenever I apply it onto my face. I really love this pressed powder and apply this with my EcoTools Powder Brush, which is a huge brush. I really like how this powder barely has any fallout and applies so nicely on my skin. I love how when I apply this pressed powder onto my face, it doesn't give my face that powdered look.

Overall, I really love both of these products but to tell you the truth, I tend to use the pressed powder more than the actual foundation. I just love setting my other liquid foundations with this pressed powder. It makes my face look so natural and shine-free. In my opinion, I think that if you are looking for really lightweight foundation and don't really need full coverage, I would suggest this line but if you are a person who loves thick and needs the full coverage, you might not like the Nearly Naked line. Keep this in mind that for concealing old scars or acne, you would still need to use concealer. If you are on the lookout for a really good affordable, drugstore pressed powder, I would definitely recommend the Nearly Naked pressed powder.

CVS Haul: Revlon Nearly Naked, Rimmel Clean Finish, & Nivea Lip Butter

Hey everyone! I am so excited to have gotten my hands on some new Revlon products. If you didn't know, last week, CVS had this awesome sale on the new Revlon Nearly Naked products!! They were on sale for $6.99 each and you get $2ECBs back (limit 6). Plus I had gotten a CVS coupon for $3 off $10 Revlon cosmetics purchase. For me, that was definitely a great deal. Since I was at CVS, I decided to check out the clearance sale going on right now. I always have to walk around the makeup aisles a couple of times to check any new products or to make sure that I don't forget to buy something. Anyways...

What I bought:
RIMMEL Clean Finish Foundation "240 Soft Beige"
This was on clearance for 50% off so I only bought it for $2.50 and I had $2.50ECBs from a previous purchase so I got this for FREE and only paid for tax!! Heck yeah! I have heard a couple of great reviews about this foundation so I am surprised that its on clearance. What makes this foundation really interesting is that it comes with a stick applicator inside so instead of having to pour out the product, you would just use the stick to get the foundation out.

REVLON Nearly Naked Foundation "150 Nude"
Oh my goodness! I am so happy to have gotten my hands on this new foundation. I was surprised that it was on sale so quickly. This was on sale for $6.99 (original price is around $9.99, depending on the store) but you get $2ECBs back and I had a CVS coupon, which made the deal even better. I only ended up paying $3.49 for this!! I have been trying this foundation out since I bought it and I have to say that I really like it. I already have a first impressions post coming up, so stay tuned for that. I just need to edit my pictures and type up the post. If you would like to see a more in-depth review as well, definitely let me know.

REVLON Nearly Naked Pressed Powder "010 Fair"
Usually when a new foundation comes out with a pressed powder, I don't ever buy the pressed powder that comes out with it but this time, it was an exception. LOL This was also on sale for $6.99 (original price is around $9.99, depending on the store) but you get $2ECBs back and I had a CVS coupon, which made the deal even better. I only ended up paying $3.49 for this as well. I have also been trying this pressed powder and I like it as well. I have been using this with the Nearly Naked liquid foundation as well as with my other liquid foundations. This product will also be featured in my first impressions post but I can do a separate post as well, if you guys want that instead. Just let me know!

NIVEA Lip Butter "Raspberry Rose Kiss"
These past two months, my lips have been super dry. When I wake up, my lip are dry to the point that they feel like they are going to crack, if I don't end up putting lip balm soon. Ouch! I have been on the search for the best lip balm or lip butter to make this annoying problem disappear. This is a new product that recently came out as well. It was on sale for $2.50 when I bought it. Hopefully this lip butter will work. There were also flavors on the display but I picked this one because I love berry scented products. I haven't given this a try yet but if you would like to see a review on it, let me know and I will start trying it out.

So those are all the products that I bought last week from CVS! I usually don't buy new products until I see a couple of reviews and swatches on these but these three products, I just couldn't wait, especially on the Revlon Nearly Naked products! I am surprised that I got such a great deal on all of these products, which is a bit rare for new products unless they are BOGO 50% sales.

Have you tried out any of these new products yet?

Spotted: Wet N Wild 2013 Collection

Hey everyone! If you didn't know already, Wet N Wild came out with a bunch of new products with their new advanced formula! They came out with new mascaras, lipglosses, and powders! I haven't tried any of these products yet but I will probably be picking up some products from the Fergie line, especially the pink shimmer blush, which I will probably be using as a highlighter since its so shimmery. Now all I need to do is to find it before its sold out. Hopefully the new products from the Fergie line are part of the core collection and are not limited edition products. Okay, enough of the Fergie collection since I am going to be talking about Wet N Wild's core collection products in this post.

The first products that I am going to be talking about, featured in this display, are the new mascaras from Wet N Wild. There are a total of five new mascaras, each with its own purpose. I like how each one is a different color, it reminds me of the CoverGirl LashBlast mascaras. The green mascara is called the Wet N Wild MegaProtien Mascara From the packaging, its meant to nourish your lashes with its fortified soy and wheat protein. Its enriched with acai oil and is paraben-free. I guess its supposed to condition your lashes to make them healthier. These are $1.99 each. The next mascara is the Wet N Wild MegaVolume Mascara. This is in the yellow packaging. It claims to give your lashes 5x the volume with its volume-building formula. It also claims to give your lashes a natural-looking enhancing effect. This mascara is $2.99 each, which is one dollar more than the MegaProtien one. The next mascara that I am going to be talking about is also $2.99 each, which is the Wet N Wild MegaLength Mascara. This is in the purple colored tube. MegaLength claims to give the appearance of 80% longer-looking lashes. Supposedly it visibly lifts your lashes with its clump-free definition. This mascara comes with a waterproof version as well.

The other two mascaras that I am going to talk about are both $3.99 each. Its weird that these mascaras are different and higher priced than the other mascaras that I shown above. I wonder if that means that its better but then we should all know that just because a product is cheaper doesn't mean that its a bad product. For example, Wet N Wild eyeshadows are inexpensive but they are some of the best drugstore eye shadows around. Definitely let me know if you agree with me. The ones that are $3.99 each are the ones in the pink and orange tubes. The pink tubes are the Wet N Wild MegaPlump mascaras and the orange ones are the Wet N Wild MegaImpact mascaras. The MegaPlump ones are supposed to make your lashes look three times plumper. Plus this mascara comes with a waterproof formula as well. Its interesting that the waterproof version claims to make your lashes three times plumper while the regular version makes your lashes five times plumper. MegaImpact supposedly impacts your lashes by eight times by making it look longer and thicker while instantly lifting your lashes for more drama.

The next products in the display are the Wet N Wild MegaLast Lipglosses. If you didn't spot them already, these have a $1 off coupon attached to these! These have thirteen shades and a lot of the shades look very pretty. The shades range from red, nudes, to pinks. These claim to have intense color with a high shine because of elastisilk technology for transfer-proof formula. The fact that these claim to be transfer-proof makes me want to try them even more because lipglosses transfer easily. If you have tried these before, definitely let me know if they are actually transfer-proof. These are $2.99 each.

The last products on the display are the new Wet N Wild CoverAll Pressed Powders. According to the display, these powders claim to give you all-day, weightless wear. Plus their VisBright complex reduces the appearance of wrinkles, which is definitely a huge claim, in my opinion. These powders are $2.99 each and come in five different shades. I do wish that the shade range for these powder was better. The shades are Fair, Fair/Light, Light, Light/Medium, and Medium. Sadly there are no dark shades but hopefully, there will be more shades later on.

Those are all the new products from Wet N Wild. If you have seen this new display at your store, definitely let know because I would love to know whether this display is going to show up at other stores besides Walgreens. All these products look pretty good and a lot of them have some big claims and I wonder if the claims are really true. Let me know what you guys think. I would love to know if any of these products are good and whether you are planning on getting any of them.

Spotted: New Physicians Formula Products

Hey everyone! Today, I am going to do another post but on new products from Physicians Formula so definitely keep an eye out for the other posts coming right after this one. I love it when a new year comes (well except for the getting older part LOL) because all the drugstore brands start coming out with a bunch of new products. It might not be good for the wallet but its just so much fun for the eyes looking at all the new products. In this first Physicians Formula post, I am going to talk about the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Bronzers.

I am so excited for these new products because I love the Happy Booster line, especially their blushes! I love the bold pink packaging and how the actual product has hearts on them. I am not sure if they actually do change your mood and make you happy but I do get a smile on my face whenever I pull them out of my collection. What makes this new collection really interesting is that the Happy Booster line finally has baked bronzers! Plus if you didn't know already, Physicians Formula is actually considered the #1 brand for drugstore bronzers! This new display shows a regular baked bronzer and an illuminating bronzing veil. I love how Physicians Formula always has $3 off coupons on their new products!!

The first bronzer that I am going to show you a close-up of is the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Illuminating Bronzing Veil. Instead of your usual bronzing pearls like other brands have, Physicians Formula made theirs with little loose hearts! This bronzer is supposed to give you an illuminous bronze glow. According to the packaging, it comes with both a puff powder brush and a their regular brush.

The next product in the display is their Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Baked Bronzer. These look like gorgeous baked bronzers and sort of remind me of this one collection from MAC that they had a long time ago where the powders had hearts in the middle. If you know which MAC collection that I am talking about, please leave a comment below!

So that is all the new products for the Physicians Formula Happy Booster line!! I am so excited for both of these bronzers and can't wait to get my hands on the Baked Bronzer during a sale. Hopefully when they have the sale, the coupons attached to the packaging aren't gone because usually whenever CVS has a sale on Physicians Formula products, all the coupons are gone. I don't know if customers take them or if CVS stores have their employees take them off so they can get more money with less hassle of having to deal with coupons. What do you guys think? LOL Have you seen these new bronzers from Physicians Formula? Are any of these bronzers going to end up in your collection anytime soon?

Here it is again, another drugstore brand has come out with their own BB Cream! This time, Physicians Formula thought to throw their hat into the game and came out with a new line of products. This line is called the Physicians Formula All-In-1 Beauty Balm Makeup, which includes BB concealers, BB creams, and BB powders. I have only tried BB creams so its interesting that a drugstore brand decided to up their game by coming out with BB concealers and BB powders. Now let me just say that when I walked into CVS, this display definitely caught my eye! Its is definitely a shiny display and even the products are shiny because of the holographic print on them. Chances are, you will probably not miss this display, if it comes across you. According to the display and packaging, these claim to have more than 10 beauty benefits. They claim to be:

  • ◊ Smoothing
  • ◊ Moisturizing
  • ◊ Protecting
  • ◊ Firming
  • ◊ Priming + Filling
  • ◊ Perfecting
  • ◊ Concealing
  • ◊ Brightening
  • ◊ Line-Softening
  • ◊ Long-Wearing

I am not sure if you can see the before/after pictures on the display that I took. Those pictures show that you can use these products to completely cover up blemishes, acne, and redness. Usually BB creams have light to medium coverage but these products seem to have full coverage but I am not sure. Their Super BB cream claims that it can replace both your moisturizer and your foundation, plus it has SPF in it. I am really excited for these all these products in this line and can't wait to see the reviews on them. I would have bought all three, if I had the money and also if there were on sale. LOL I always wait for a sale for Physicians Formula products because they can be on the pricey side for drugstore products. For example, the Super BB cream is $13.99 each, the Super BB Cream is $16.29 and the Super BB Powder retails for $14.99 each. Have you seen these new Super BB products from Physicians Formula? Do any of these products interest you?

Last but now least, I just wanted to let you guys all know about a new line from Physicians Formula!! I am guessing that this new line is like their Happy Booster line but instead of making you happy, its supposed to make you feel sexy whenever you put on these products! If you haven't guessed what this new line is called, it is the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Makeup. This new line includes blushes, bronzers, and lipglosses but I don't know if they are going to include powders and highlighters later on. Each has two different shades.

First off, I just have to admit how much I am in love with the packaging and the design on the powders! The first product in this line is the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer. The packaging on these are kind of similar to their Cashmere line but with a lace print on the compact. I love how the compact is black and red lace print and on the side, it has a black bow with a heel on it. Plus what makes it even cuter is on the actual bronzers, there is an imprinted corset. I don't know why but tis just reminds me of a sexy vampire with all the red and black packaging. LOL Let me know if you guys are on the same boat as me. According to the packaging, these blushes have a seductive scent with a pheromone boosting blend.

The second product in this new line is the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Blush. These also have the same black and red lace print packaging as the bronzers but instead of the imprinted corset, there is an imprinted heel on the blushes. According to the packaging, these blushes have a seductive scent with a pheromone boosting blend, which is the same as the blushes.

The last things on the display are the Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Glossy Stains. According to the packaging, these claim to have a kiss proof wear, intense color, and a high shine. This also has a seductive scent with a pheromone boosting blend like both the bronzers and the blushes. These also have a cute packaging on them. They both have red tops and come in a glass packaging. Around the lipgloss is a strip of red and black lace print design with the black bow and heel.

If you guys have seen these new products, definitely let me know! I would also love to know what the seductive scent smells like and if the scent really is seductive, like they claim. I just love the packaging on these products and can't wait to own some of these in my collection. Let me know, if any of these products interest you and which ones you are planning on buying!
