Lisa's Ulta Haul (Feat. NYX & Revlon)

Hey everyone! I am not sure if you knew but Ulta had 40% off on NYX, Revlon, Physicians Formula, and Almay last week. I am a bit sad that the sale is now over because I wouldn't mind getting a couple more items. I actually went there two times because the first time I went, they were pretty much out of stock with a lot of products since I went to the sale pretty late. The first brand that always seems to go fast is NYX. Whenever I go during their sale, the NYX displays are always full of people in the aisles. I know that whenever I go and they are out of stock, I make a remainder to go back again in a few days because my Ulta store always restocks mid week. So happy that my second trip went better than my first.

What I bought:
◊ NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss "160 Tea Rose"
I love these mega shine lip glosses! Right now, I have 3 in my collection but this is my fourth. If I could all the shades that they have, I definitely would. Plus I would have so much fun wearing them and swatching them (life of a beauty blogger). Yes I do like swatching makeup! LOL I really like how these feel on my lips and they smell pretty good. I have heard some people say that these taste good but I never know what they are talking about. I don't really taste anything. Tea Rose is a gorgeous neutral pink, which is perfect for the Spring.

◊ NYX Illuminator "02 Chaotic"
Before I bought this, I looked for reviews on this but there aren't any. Its weird, when I was at the store swatching it and looking at in the tester pan, it looked pink but when I got home, the one that I got is a peach with a ton of shimmer. I don't know if they put the labels on wrong or what but I am going to go back and check it out again. This is the first time that I tried out an illuminator from NYX and I really like it. The one that I really wanted was a pink that looked like a nice blush and highlighter on my skintone but the one that I bought home is too sheer to be used as a blush. I have really been liking this as a blush topper and a highlight for the top of my cheekbones. I will be posting up a review with swatches on this soon.

◊ NYX Mosaic Powder "09 Paradise"
This was the last one in the display and there wasn't a tester. I never tried a mosaic powder before but since it was the last one, I figured that I might as well give it a try. Mines does have a bit of a dent in it but it was the last one so I bought it anyway. It looks pretty interesting because it has five shades of pink in one pan. I am assuming that you can use each of them on their own or swirl your brush in all five shades. Its pretty much like getting 6 blushes for the price of one.
◊ NYX Mosaic Powder "06 Rosey"
This was also one of the last items at my Ulta. Since it looked like a pretty popular product, I decided to buy it. Usually I don't buy things on a whim before I check out the swatches but I figured I might as well give it a try. Plus the shades look really pretty. I will probably end up using all the shades together since it looks like it will be hard to get a brush and only get one shade. I can't wait to try this soon. Once I try it out, I will post up swatches.

◊ NYX Powder Blush "Dusty Rose"
Whenever Ulta has this sale, I always make sure to pick up a blush. My first trip to Ulta wasn't very successful since all the blushes were sold out, except for the ones that I already had. Good thing with my second trip, I was able to pick up one blush that I didn't have. I was happy when I saw this because it was on my list of products to buy. I checked up swatches online before and it looked really pretty so I can't wait to wear it!

◊ Revlon Lip Butters "Sorbet" & "Wild Watermelon"
Yay! I am so happy that I was about to get some new shades for 40% off and with coupons! I didn't think I was going to find these since they were sold out the first time but I made sure to look in all the containers (that they have at the entrance of the store) and there they were, just hiding there. I don't if someone was trying to hide them since they were with a bunch of eyeshadows. I love these Revlon lip butters. They are so moisturizing and pigmented. Some shades are sheer though but my favorite ones are pigmented and only need one to two coats. These are such gorgeous shades and perfect for the Summer!

So those are all the goodies that I picked up!! I am so happy to have two of the four new shades for the Revlon Lip Butters. I'll probably just end up buying the other two shades from Target or CVS. Hopefully I will be able to get a good deal with those two as well. I was so lucky enough to get a bunch of samples with my second purchase! They are all fragrances since thats all that they had, which I was happy with because I love getting perfume samples.

I actually can't wait to try out all of these products, especially the blushes since I am a blush addict. Let me know if you are the same too! It will be nice to know that I am not the only one with the problem. LOL

Did you take advantage of the 40% off sale?

Review & Swatches: Nivea Lip Butter "Raspberry Rose Kiss"

Hey everyone! If you didn't know already, recently Nivea came out with some lip butters last month. I only bought one because they were fairly new and there wasn't any reviews on them yet. Now if you know me, I rarely buy products without checking the reviews and swatches. I have only bought three products this year without checking any reviews and they were the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation and pressed powder and this Nivea Lip Butter "Raspberry Rose Kiss". If you would like to check out my review with "demo" on the Revlon Nearly Naked line, you can CLICK HERE.

PACKAGING:
These Nivea Lip Butters come in tins. I actually like the size of these tins because its big enough to just apply straight to my lips from the tin. You could also apply this using your fingers but I wouldn't really recommend that since fingers can get dirty during the day and you wouldn't want to apply germs an bacteria onto your lips, which you might end up digesting. The tins are pretty sturdy. It has been in my purse everyday and never once has the top popped open.

FLAVORS:
So far, there are four flavors for these Nivea Lip Butters. The one that I purchased is Raspberry Rose Kiss. The other three are Vanilla & Macadamia Kiss, Caramel Cream Kiss, and Original.

WHERE:
So far, I have seen these at RiteAid and CVS. I think I saw these at Target and Walgreens too but I am not sure, so don't quote me on that.

PRICE:
I bought mines for $2.50 at CVS during a sale last month. These are regularly priced at $3.99 each but keep in mind, prices vary by stores and region.

RASPBERRY ROSE KISS:
I remember when I first opened this and held it up to my nose to smell it. Oh my goodness, it smelled so good! I really love the smell of this. It just so delicious that it makes me want to eat it but of course, I won't. LOL Keep in mind that after a couple of uses, the smell isn't as strong as when you first opened it. It still smells good but its very faint. When I first applied this onto my lips, it applied to smooth and was so creamy on. I love how it feels on my lips and it definitely does last a long time on the lips. It keeps my lips moisturized for hours, way better than using a lip balm throughout the day. Since I have been using this for a month, mines definitely has a huge dent in it because it so soft in texture, its so easy to make a dent with a press. When I bought this, I actually thought that it would leave a pink tint onto my lips because the packaging is pink and the actual product in the tin is pink as well but once its applied onto your lips, it just leaves a milky white tint onto your lips. I am not sure if you can see it in my swatches and on my lip swatches. Its not that noticeable but if you apply too much, it will definitely goop around your lips so be careful. I haven't tried the other flavors so I don't know if they are all the same.

OVERALL:
I love Raspberry Rose Kiss and actually plan on buying the other flavors and repurchasing this one. Since its been very cold lately and it recently hailed (yes hail) a few days ago, my lips have been on the dry side and this lip butter has actually kept my lips moisturized throughout the day and night. I always make sure to apply this before going to bed and when I wake up, my lips aren't as dry or cracked as they used to be prior purchase. The scent is delicious and the packaging is sturdy but I actually wish that Nivea would have these in tube packaging someday because I would actually buy those, especially if they don't change the formula when its repackaged. If you lips have been dry lately, then I would recommend these because they are so keep and moisturizing on the lips.

QUESTIONS:
Have you tried the Nivea Lip Butters?
Which flavor would you choose?

CVS Haul: Revlon Nearly Naked, Rimmel Clean Finish, & Nivea Lip Butter

Hey everyone! I am so excited to have gotten my hands on some new Revlon products. If you didn't know, last week, CVS had this awesome sale on the new Revlon Nearly Naked products!! They were on sale for $6.99 each and you get $2ECBs back (limit 6). Plus I had gotten a CVS coupon for $3 off $10 Revlon cosmetics purchase. For me, that was definitely a great deal. Since I was at CVS, I decided to check out the clearance sale going on right now. I always have to walk around the makeup aisles a couple of times to check any new products or to make sure that I don't forget to buy something. Anyways...

What I bought:
RIMMEL Clean Finish Foundation "240 Soft Beige"
This was on clearance for 50% off so I only bought it for $2.50 and I had $2.50ECBs from a previous purchase so I got this for FREE and only paid for tax!! Heck yeah! I have heard a couple of great reviews about this foundation so I am surprised that its on clearance. What makes this foundation really interesting is that it comes with a stick applicator inside so instead of having to pour out the product, you would just use the stick to get the foundation out.

REVLON Nearly Naked Foundation "150 Nude"
Oh my goodness! I am so happy to have gotten my hands on this new foundation. I was surprised that it was on sale so quickly. This was on sale for $6.99 (original price is around $9.99, depending on the store) but you get $2ECBs back and I had a CVS coupon, which made the deal even better. I only ended up paying $3.49 for this!! I have been trying this foundation out since I bought it and I have to say that I really like it. I already have a first impressions post coming up, so stay tuned for that. I just need to edit my pictures and type up the post. If you would like to see a more in-depth review as well, definitely let me know.

REVLON Nearly Naked Pressed Powder "010 Fair"
Usually when a new foundation comes out with a pressed powder, I don't ever buy the pressed powder that comes out with it but this time, it was an exception. LOL This was also on sale for $6.99 (original price is around $9.99, depending on the store) but you get $2ECBs back and I had a CVS coupon, which made the deal even better. I only ended up paying $3.49 for this as well. I have also been trying this pressed powder and I like it as well. I have been using this with the Nearly Naked liquid foundation as well as with my other liquid foundations. This product will also be featured in my first impressions post but I can do a separate post as well, if you guys want that instead. Just let me know!

NIVEA Lip Butter "Raspberry Rose Kiss"
These past two months, my lips have been super dry. When I wake up, my lip are dry to the point that they feel like they are going to crack, if I don't end up putting lip balm soon. Ouch! I have been on the search for the best lip balm or lip butter to make this annoying problem disappear. This is a new product that recently came out as well. It was on sale for $2.50 when I bought it. Hopefully this lip butter will work. There were also flavors on the display but I picked this one because I love berry scented products. I haven't given this a try yet but if you would like to see a review on it, let me know and I will start trying it out.

So those are all the products that I bought last week from CVS! I usually don't buy new products until I see a couple of reviews and swatches on these but these three products, I just couldn't wait, especially on the Revlon Nearly Naked products! I am surprised that I got such a great deal on all of these products, which is a bit rare for new products unless they are BOGO 50% sales.

QUESTIONS:
Have you tried out any of these new products yet?
Which product would you like to see a review on?

Spotted: New Maybelline Products

Hey everyone! I just wanted to show everyone some new products from Maybelline. They just recently came out with their very first Maybelline MasterDuo 2-In-1 Glossy Liquid Liner. According to the display, you can use this liner to create both thin and thick lines with its dual tip. Plus its considered long-wearing. These actually sound pretty interesting. Plus I already have some of their EyeStudio Gel/Cream liners and I love those so much so I might have to try these out someday. They have these liners in black, purple, brown, green, and navy blue. If you seen this display, please let me know if you bought any of these liners and whether or not they are worth buying.

Also, if you are definitely a fan of the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles, then you might actually want to try out the new Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot. While the Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles is meant to be used to cover up dark circles and fine lines for the under eye areas, the new Age Rewind Eraser Dark Spot is meant to cover instantly and fade dark spots over time, according to the display. This is actually pretty interesting because I have always wanted to try the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles but I don't have any dark circles or fine lines under my eyes so I wouldn't really know if it was a good product or not but so many people have been raving about it. So I am pretty excited that Maybelline has finally come out with one that I can use for my dark spots and maybe acne spots. This is actually a concealer with a treatment. Plus it has Vitamin C in it, which is always good.

So far, there are five shades in this line but I am sure that Maybelline will expand the shades later on, especially if this product becomes popular like the original Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles. The following shades are:

  • ◊ 210 Fair
  • ◊ 215 Fair/Light
  • ◊ 220 Light
  • ◊ 225 Light/Medium
  • ◊ 235 Medium/Deep

One thing that does get me is that I wish Maybelline had made it easier to see the actual color through the packaging like they did with the original but I guess they did that because they didn't want people getting confused and returning them if they bought the wrong concealer. I mean the white packaging does look nice but its so hard to tell which shade would best suit your skin tone and just going with the color on the paper packaging is hardly ever successful. Let me know what you guys think about the new packaging. Are you guys in the same boat as me and wish that they had made it more easier to see the actual shades inside the product? Would you guys be picking this up to try?

Also, a new collection, featuring the Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal was recently released. These are new metallic shades. All of these shades look gorgeous and I definitely see them as being wearable shades, depending on how you wear them on your eyes. There are two shades that I really want to add to my collection, if I decided to buy them but I will get to that later.
In this LE collection, there are five new shades:

  • ◊ 55 Inked In Pink
  • ◊ 60 Silver Strike
  • ◊ 65 Gold Rush
  • ◊ 70 Barely Branded
  • ◊ 75 Electric Blue

In my opinion, I can definitely see both Inked In Pink and Barely Branded being the first two colors that will sell out fast. Both of those shades are definitely wearable and can be great for everyday looks. Those are definitely the two shades that I would love to add to my collection, if you guys haven't guessed it yet. Barely Branded reminds me of Barely Beige. I think it can be great for those who didn't get a chance to pick up Barely Beige because it was sold out so fast. I wouldn't say that they are exact dupes but they can be somewhat comparable. What do you think of the new LE shades from this collection? Do you plan on picking up any of these shades and if so, which ones?

Last but not least are the new Maybelline Color Whispers. Keep in mind, that I haven't tried these but I have heard that these are comparable to the Revlon Lip Butters, which I love. These actually look like they have similar packaging to the usual Maybelline ColorSensation lipsticks but remind me of the Revlon Lip Butters' packaging as well, especially when the cap is off. I actually spotted these at Walgreens for $7.99 each. If you know me, then you would know that I am going to wait for them to go on sale first and then buy some. I just hate paying full price for items unless I am going to need it (not want it but actually need it). There is a huge difference between the two but I admit, sometimes the line between them does get a bit blurred. LOL On the display, there were 20 new shades ranging from pinks, nudes, berries, and reds. I love how there are different varieties because there are a couple of light to dark shades. The different shades are (starting at the front):

  • ◊ 05 Go Nude
  • ◊ 10 Bare To Be Bold
  • ◊ 15 Some ike It Taupe
  • ◊ 20 Mocha Muse
  • ◊ 25 Lust For Blush
  • ◊ 30 Pin Up Peach
  • ◊ 35 Coral Amibition
  • ◊ 40 Orange Attitude
  • ◊ 45 Who Wore It Red-Er
  • ◊ 50 Cherry On Top
  • ◊ 55 One Size Fits Pearl
  • ◊ 60 Petal Rebel
  • ◊ 65 Pink Possibilites
  • ◊ 70 Faint For Fuchsia
  • ◊ 75 Rose Of Attraction
  • ◊ 80 Made-It Mauve
  • ◊ 85 Berry Ready
  • ◊ 90 Oh La Lilac
  • ◊ 95 Mad For Magenta
  • ◊ 100 A Plum Prospect

Whew! Now that is definitely a lot of shades! All of them look so gorgeous that I wish I had the money to just buy all of these! LOL I can't wait to see swatches of these and plus I would love to know if these are in any way, similar to the Revlon Lip Butters. If you guys have tried these already, please comment below letting me know what you think of them and if they are worth buying or not because they all look so gorgeous in the display and I am sure that they will look just as beautiful on my lips and in my collection. Have you seen the Maybelline Color Whisper yet? What shades caught your eyes?

April 2012 Favorites

Hey everyone! Sorry if I am a little late on my April favorites but I have been busy. I know that is no excuse but I will try to post them on time next month. I don't really have that many products this month but thats because most of my favorites have been the same month from month and I didn't feel like putting them repeat. LOL I decided to just mention the products that haven't been mentioned in my other months. Some products are new favorites and others are re-discovered.

Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer & Concealer Brush
I have really been liking this concealer because its really heavy. It covers all my blemishes perfectly and you only need a little. I can see myself still using this concealer in the next five years. It comes with a lot of products and all you need is a little dot of product. I have really been liking this concealer with this duo concealer brush that I bought last year from Big Lots. I think the brand is Hi-Definition but I am not sure. My Big Lots doesn't carry it anymore but I think you can find this brand at WalMart. The brush has two sides but I have really been liking the smaller brush end because it is perfect for applying concealer.

WnW 6 Pan Palette in 249 Vanity
I really love this palette. All the shades are gorgeous shades and pigmented. Plus this palette is so inexpensive. Sadly this is now discontinued but if you do get the chance to see it pop up in your clearance bin, definitely pick it up. I know for sure, that if I ever get lucky to see another one of this, I am definitely picking it up as a backup. This is definitely a palette that I reach for almost everyday because its great for everyday, natural eye looks.

Stila Illuminating Finishing Powder in Rose Gold
I got this from a friend and I have been loving it since. This is my first and only Stila product. Plus its also the first highlighter that I have tried. This product is what got me into highlighters and since then, I have been trying to find a drugstore highlighter that is as good as this. I use this to highlight my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. It just gives my cheekbones the perfect glow.

Revlon Lip Butter in 015 Tutti Frutti
I freaking love this color. I think this shade is perfect and definitely in trend this season. I really love how this looks on my lips. I think this shade will look gorgeous on many different skintones. I typically wear this whenever I am wearing an natural eye look, just to give my face some pop and wow. LOL

Model 21 Fashion Lashes in No. 4
I love these lashes and have been wearing them everyday. They make my eyes look bigger and more awake. Plus they give my eyes the illusion of double lids. These are a little bit big for my eyes so I always have to trim them a little. These are very inexpensive. Normally they retail for $6USD for a box of lashes at certain stores but I bought a bunch of these a few years ago in Vietnam.

So that is all for my favorites! Again, sorry for being so late but better late than never! If you have any questions about any of the products mention, definitely let me know. If you would like to see swatches of any of the products, let me know as well.

RiteAid Haul (Featuring Sally Hansen, Almay, & Revlon)

Hey everyone! I was craving some OceanSpray Cranberry Juice and decided to go to RiteAid to buy some since they were on sale $2/5. Sadly, my RiteAid was sold out but at least I was able to get a rain check. Turns out my RiteAid store is closing down in a couple of months so they won’t be bringing in new merchandise, which makes me very sad. The employees told me that I could still redeem my rain check at another RiteAid but sadly, the next nearest one isn’t that close to me. Even though I am a little sad that I won’t have a RiteAid close me to me, I am looking forward to the crazy discounts that will be happening in the next couple of months.

Even though they didn’t have any OceanSpray, I was hoping that they would have the new Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains since NouveauCheap posted were also included in the 40% off sale. Since my RiteAid is going to close down, they didn’t have it and will not be carrying them. Since I wasn’t able to get my hands on any of those Kissable Lip Stains, I decided to get some other products instead.

I was able to spot a couple of Almay products on clearance. I bought all the ones that I could find. LOL Plus I had a couple of $2USD off any Almay cosmetics, which made the deal even sweeter! I was also able to find a couple of Revlon products on clearance but some of them weren’t interesting to me. Some of the products were really old and I have never seen before.

What I bought:
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs in Tan Glow
I love this stuff! This is my third bottle! My legs are not perfect. I have a couple of scars from my childhood and some recent ones. This product makes my legs so shimmery and almost flawless looking. I always feel confident whenever I use this on my legs. If you want, I can post a review with pictures and swatches. This retails for $13.99 but it was on sale. Buy $10 of Sally Hansen products and get $5 +UP Rewards.

Almay Powder Bronzer in 210 SunKissed (x2)
This was on clearance! I never tried this before but I can’t wait because I am somewhat of a bronzer addict but not as much as a blush addict. LOL This was on clearance for $2.57USD but I used $2USD off coupons so technically I paid $0.57USD for each. Yay! I will definitely be using these to contour or as an allover powder.

Almay Smart Shade Blush in 010 Pink Rose
This product was also on clearance for $2.24USD but with my coupon, I only paid $0.24USD plus tax. Now that my friend, is definitely a fabulous deal. I haven’t tried this yet but its claims to transform into your perfect blush shade once blended into your skin. Now that definitely sounds interesting! Hopefully it works out because I haven’t heard that many reviews on this product.

Revlon Age Defying Concealer in 001 Light Pale
This was on clearance for $2.62USD. I didn’t have any coupons for this but that was fine. I have never heard or tried this but I can’t wait to see how it works out. This concealer is supposed to give people a younger and brighter look. If you have tried this before, definitely let me know on whether you like it or not.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie
I have so many lip butters and hope that one day, I will be able to own all the shades available. Yes, I love them that much. LOL This was on sale for 40% off so it was $4.49USD. I had a $2USD off RiteAid VideoValues coupon and a $1USD off manufacturer coupon. With all my coupons and the sale, I only paid $1.49USD for this!

So that is all for my haul. Its not much but its enough for right now. LOL I can’t wait to try the Almay and Revlon products. Please let me know if you have tried any of these products and whether you love them or not. I would definitely love to know!!
