Lisa's Empties Feb 2013 - April 2013

Hey everyone! Its finally time to do another empties post! My empties bag was filling up so I knew that I had to post this before they start collecting dust and attract spiders. Scary... Plus the longer that I hold on the empties post, the longer the post will be. Plus lets face it, there are some of us that don't like to read too much. LOL For me, if its about makeup and interesting, I can read forever. This empties post mostly features lippies since I wanted to try and use up the majority of my lip products before I go out and buy more.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer
I actually bought this a while back when I first started to build up my makeup collection. It came in a set with two other products for $10 at Sephora. The set is no longer available but I am sure that Benefit has other sets with this deluxe size primer. This was my first high-end eye primer and I was definitely excited when I bought it and when I finished it. Its supposed to make your concealers not crease and eyeshadows stay put and vibrant. I never used it for concealers but only as an eyeshadow primer. This is a nice primer but the only thing that I didn't like about this was the packaging. It comes with an applicator doe-tip brush. I actually prefer eye primers with the squeeze tube packaging.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
I really like this mascara. The formula is great and so is the brush. It lengths my lashes a bit and gives them volume. According to Tarte, this mascara "could be considered a push-up bra for your lashes--a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning) plus it's dermatologist- and clinically-proven to increase the appearance of lash volume." I already have a full size back-up of this, which I got in a set. I can't wait to start using the full size once I finish up more mascaras. If you haven't tried this mascara yet, I reccomend you try it out. Plus I really like using it with the next product that I am going to talk about.
Tarte MultiplEYE Lash Enhancing Primer
According to Tarte, this is "an eyelash primer infused with high-performance natural ingredients to increase the appearance of lash volume and increase the appearance of lash length as it preps and primer your lashes--making it the ultimate base for bombshell lashes." I love using this with my Tarte mascara and with my other mascaras. It leaves these white fibers on the tips of my lashes and once you coat them with your regular black mascara, they instantly appear longer. This was my first eye lash primer and it made me want to branch out to try out others.

Too Faced Lash Injection Tube-Building Mascara
This was my first full size tube of high-end mascara. It came in a Too Faced set that I bought at Nordstorm Rack. By the way, I love Nordstorm Rack! Its such a great store that allows you to buy high-end makeup at great prices! If you have never been to a Nordstorm Rack before, you should definitely check out out! According to Too Faced, this mascara "wraps around each lash to create tubes that build, stretch and curl for more extreme volume, length and drama." Lets just start off with the scent. Yes, this mascara has a scent to it. I actually had some of my friends smell it one time when we were at Sephora and they both didn't like it. It has this weird fruity scent to it but its not detectable once applied onto your lashes (that I know of). It has a big brush, which I love mascaras with big brushes but this one just didn't do anything for my lashes. It made them clumpy and didn't lengthen them at all. Other than that, I don't see myself repuchasing this mascara.

Marc Jacobs Daisy
I have the full size of this perfume but wanted to bring the sample with me throughout the day since I didn't want to carry around the big bottle in my purse. Since I am not good at describing scents, I am just going to read off of the Sephora website. So according to Sephora, this is a "fresh and feminine with a playful innocence. Its a floral with a vintage flavor. Daisy is a sparkling floral bouquet, spirited and fresh, wrapped in comfort and warmth." I just love this scent. It smels so good--fresh but floral at the same time. If you haven't smelled this yet, I highly suggest you go to Sephora or Ulta and give it a whiff.

Sally Girl Mini Nail Polish "Surf's Up
IDK why this didn't have the shade name on the bottle but I found the name online by the Sally item number on the bottle. Surf's Up is a gorgeous teal creme polish. I am so happy that I finished up this bottle. This is the first ever nail polish bottle that I ever finished! Even though its a mini size, I am still content nonetheless. This polish is on the sheer side so thats probably how I ended up finishing it faster. I think it took about three to four coats for it to be opaque on the nail. I would not repurchase this, especially since I could get a full size bottle for the same price from another brand.

NYC Smooch Proof 16HR LipStain "490 Persistent Pink"
Let me just start off by saying that I do not like this lip stain. The first time I tried it, it barely applied any color onto my lips. Also, the "stain" that it left on my lips didn't stay on very long. It was probably gone in a couple of minutes. It took me so many swipes to even get any color out when I use it on my lips and I've only used this like four times. I would not reccommend this at all.
Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstain "15 Wink Of Pink"
I have only used this two times and already its dried out on me. It has a nice fruity scent to it. It barely applies any color at all. I won't go into too much detail about this, except that I will not repurchase this.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Gloss "Sunset Peach"
I love this lipgloss and was a bit sad to see it gone. Sunset Peah is a gorgeous semi-sheer peach with golden peach shimmer. This was a perfect summer shade to wear to the beach. I really like the formula and consistency about this lip gloss but the only con that I didn't like was that no matter how hard I tried, the applicator couldn't reach the bottom to get all the product out. I took a picture of it to show you guys. I would reccommend this lip gloss but I wish that Revlon would make the applicator longer so you can get every last product out.

EOS Lipbalm "Honeysuckle Honeydew"
I bought this mainly because of all the hype about it last year. So many beauty gurus and beauty bloggers were raving about these. In my opinion, these were overhyped and were not worth it for me. They did not keep my lips moisturized at all. I felt like once I applied it onto my lips, the product just sat there. Whenever I use these, I would have to reapply almost every thirty minutes because my lips are so used to being moisturized all the time. I know that some people love these (and I think its more due to the cute packaging) but I didn't really like these and will not repurchase.
Soft Lips Lipbalm
I bought this one in a back of two at Big Lots for $1.50 plus tax. These are alright but not my favorite from all the lip balms that I have tried. I don't know the shade name on this since I don't have the actual product with me anymore but its a frosty baby pink. If you don't like frosty lip products, you might want to stay away from this one. It is moisturizing on the lips but not enough to make me want to repurchase this.
Chapstick "Classic"
Oh my goodness, this is the product that started my love affair with lip balms. This was actually the very first brand of lip balm that I had ever tried. I have been using this (well not this tube, I threw away my first one years ago) since middle school to college. So that was about 11 years of using and repurchasing this brand. I would always buy either the Classic one or the Strawberry one. I hardly use this brand anymore but thats not because its not good, its just because I want to try out other brands first before I repurchase another tube of this. This keeps my lips very moisturized for a long time and it also gives my lips a slight tint of color. I think this is probably great for those little kids who want their own lipstick tube but are too young to be wearing makeup. This gives them a tint of red while protecting their lips with SPF.
Nivea Lipbalm "A Kiss Of Smoothness"
I am so happy that I finished this one. I didn't really like it that much because it felt a bit waxy on my lips whenever I applied. This comes on clear so if you are looking for a clear lipbalm, you might like this. It doesn't have a scent to it either, which is nice for those who are sensitive to scents. I won't be repurchasing this. I just didn't like how it felt on my lips.

ELF Studio Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths
Another packet finished! I love these and always stock up whenever I can. I currently about about 10 in my bathroom cupboard. These only come in a pack of 20 but the cloths are huge. One cloth is good enough for me and I just wash my face after with a cleanser. This is the one makeup remover cloths that don't irritate or sting my eyes. Plus I really like the packaging because it really keeps all the cloths moist. I have never had on dried out on me when its in the packaing, with the top closed. If you haven't tried these, I suggest that you give them a try. They are only $3 plus tax.
Cotton Rounds
I bought this pack at the Dollar Tree and am definitely going to repurchase. These are only a dollar for a pack of 80 cotton rounds. Its way cheaper than buying at CVS, Walgreens, Target or any other place. I think my CVS store sells their cotton rounds for about $3, which is a but much for cotton rounds, in my opinion. These cotton rounds are pretty good. They have never left any fuzz on my eyes or face and have never torn apart. I use them to wipe away my eye makeup (whenever I am wearing waterproof mascara) and to apply my toner. I definitely reccommend these, especially if you are on a budget!

So those are all my empties! I definitely used up a lot of lip products and am so happy! Don't you guys ever get that satisfied feeling whenever you finish up a product? It makes me feel happy to know that I am not buying and wasting products but actually finishing them. Plus doing these kinds of posts reminds me which products that I like and what products I don't like. I also love seeing other peoples' empties post because its like mini reviews. Plus when people finish up a product, they really know if they ended up liking a product or hating it. Definitely let me know if you guys finished a product lately and what it was! I would love to know! Plus if you guys made it to the bottom of my post and read it all, thank you so much. I know it was a lot and I could've split it up in two but I thought it would just be easier to put everything together. So thank you and talk to you guys later!

Empties Late 2012 - Feb 2013

Hey everyone! Oh wow, its been so long since I have done an empties post. Actually I am not sure if I even did an empties post before because I can't even remember. LOL So either way, this is my first or second empties. Has this ever happened to you guys (bloggers) before where you think you posted a certain post but can't remember if you did or didn't post? Okay enough with my mini memory loss! I have been meaning to type up this post for such a long time. All my empties have been piling up so I decided to just put them all together in one post instead of separating them in parts. That would just be a hassle for me to do and for you guys to read. But then again, thats just my opinion. Haha!

Most of these products have been finished since the last few months of 2012. I would probably say around October 2012, which I am sure you guys can guess that its a big amount because of all the makeup remover wipes that I finished. LOL It takes me a month to finish a pack and yes, I use a wipe every night to remove the majority of my makeup before I clean my face with cleanser.

MAKEUP REMOVER WIPES:
ELF STUDIO Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths (X4)
I use up so many of these! I finish a pack a month so I always try to stock up whenever ELF has their 50% off sale on their website. These are the best makeup remover wipes, in my opinion. I have tried so many different brands but I always come back to the ELF Studio ones. There are only 20 wipes in a pack but I don't always wear makeup everyday so I don't always use a wipe everyday. These wipes are huge so they definitely clean off a lot of the makeup. Plus they are great for removing eye makeup and they never irritate my eyes. I love these!
YES TO Cucumber Soothing Facial Towelettes
I hated these and was so happy to finish up a pack. Sadly, I have two more huge packs to finish up. :( I thought that these would be great because I always hear so many great reviews on these wipes but they just sucked, in my opinion. They might work for others but they didn't work for me. These were just not moist enough for me to like. I felt like they were left opened to dry and then packed away to sell in stores. Plus these wipes are so small. I would always have to use two of these to get off everything. Hopefully I will just be able to finish up all of the ones left because I cannot wait to get rid of these.
NEUTROGENA Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
These wipes are okay so I don't really have too much to say about these. I just bought these just in case if I ever run low on my ELF Studio wipes. These are more moist than the Yes To Cucumber ones.

MAKEUP REMOVERS:
CLEAN & CLEAR Makeup Dissolving Foaming Cleaner
I love this! I wish that this wasn't so hard to find in stores. The only place that I have seen this and bought this at was Big Lots but since then, I haven't seen it since. I am so sad. Hopefully Big Lots will start selling these again or find a crate full of them and ship them all to my store because I would definitely stock up on this. It is the perfect makeup cleanser because it comes out in a foam, which I love. I just wish that the pump wasn't so hard.
NEUTROGENA Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover
This is one of the best eye makeup removers that I have tried. But keep in mind, I haven't tried many. LOL I always use this whenever I wear waterproof mascara. I have tried the Target version as well, which is very comparable to this but since these were on clearance, I bought this instead since it was cheaper.

FACE PRODUCTS:
MAYBELLINE Dream Mousse Concealer "Light"
I love this concealer so much and wish that Maybelline hadn't discontinued this. I actually have one more left, which I am slowly using up. I love this concealer for my under eye area. It is just so creamy and easy to blend. I wish I had actually bought more of these to keep as back-ups but oh well.
ALMAY Clear Complexion Makeup "Beige"
I love this foundation! This was my last one in the old packaging and now I am currently using up the ones in the new packaging. I love the new packaging because it has a pump whereas this one doesn't. This foundation is perfect for my skin. It never breaks me out and it doesn't irritate my skin. Plus whenever I breakout from wearing other foundations, I would always go back to this one and my pimples would get less irritated and go away nicely. I just love this so much and don't understand why people don't talk about it.
LANCOME Teint Idole Utra
This was my first ever high-end foundation (well not this bottle since I repurchased). This was probably my second or third repurchase of this. Sadly, I just found out that this was discontinued. I really liked this Lancome foundation and might actually try out other Lancome foundations. If there is one that you would recommend, definitely let me know and I will go get my shade matched and ask for a sample.
YES TO Tomatoes Clear Skin Daily Balancing Moisturizer
I love this moisturizer so much. I finished it last year so recently I have been using my Ponds as my day cream and my Burt's Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream for night. I actually have a back-up of this but I won't be using it until I finish my Ponds cream. This moisturizer smells so good and feel so smooth onto my skin. I don't know if it did anything to clear up my skin but it sure didn't irritate it.

EYES PRODUCTS:
MODEL21 Fashion Lashes
I love this brand of false lashes! They are a bit long so I always have to cut the ends, which is fine since I tend to cut my other lashes from other brands as well. These come with 10 pairs in each box and are really inexpensive. I know that some Asian beauty stores sells a box for $6 and the Model21 website sells at for around that price too, depending on the style but I always buy them straight from the source in Vietnam. They are so cheap in Vietnam since they are made over there. I can buy like 4 packs for $6, depending on where I buy them in Vietnam.
ALMAY Intence i-Color Mascara
I don't really like this mascara that much. Its a bit on the dry side so I feel like it goes bad quickly. I tend to like mascaras on the wet side because I feel like they apply better. Since its on the dry side, it tends to clump easy which I don't like either. I will definitely not be repurchasing this mascara again, which is sad since I have two more of these left because they were on sale when I first bought them. LOL *Shake my head*

LIPS PRODUCTS:
LYPSYL Intense Protection LypMoisturizer
Oh my goodness! I love this stuff and was so lucky to have gotten this in one of my Influenster VoxBoxes. I actually wish that I could get the chance to get another VoxBox since I love trying and reviewing products that I haven't tried yet. I am not going to talk much about this since I already have a review on this.

FRESH Sugar Lip Balm
I got this as a birthday gift from Sephora. I actually like this a lot and was glad to get the chance to try out a high-end lip balm but as much as I like it, I won't be purchasing it because of this high price. I think the actual price for a full size is around $18-$22. I can't remember the exact price. All I know is that its just way too much to pay for a lip balm, no matter how good and moisturizing it is.
NYC Liquid LipShine Lip Gloss "Nude York City"
I actually received this in my 2011 Holiday VoxBox from Influenster and was happy that I finished this last year. I think I had actually finished this in the beginning of 2012 but thought I had threw it out so I didn't talk about it until I found it in the back of my collection. This is actually a really nice nude lip gloss with shimmer. It smells so good and stays on my lips, which I really like from a lip gloss. Plus its not expensive either.

LIP VITAMINS Lip Butter
This was the first lip butter that I had tried, except for the Revlon Lip Butters but I wouldn't really classify those as full on lip butters. I love the smell of this and its so moisturizing on my lips. I think i bought this on clearance for $1 at Sally's. I would probably repurchase this but haven't yet because I don't usually shop at Sally's.
NYC Extreme Lip Glider Lip Gloss "Park Ave Pink
This was actually not bad of a lipgloss. Sadly they are discontinued but I have spotted some at my Dollar Tree at random times so if you ever wanted to get your hands on it, you could try looking there. As much as I like this, I don't really like the packaging because its so long and a bit flimsy. I wish that they would have just packaged it in your typical doe foot applicator because I feel like that would be more sturdier to carry in my purse.
TOO FACED Glamour Gloss "Barely Legal"
I remember actually loving this lip gloss when I first tried it but then after a few weeks, my lips couldn't take it anymore. Its actually a plumping lip gloss so it tingles your lips. For some, after a couple of weeks of wearing it, it just started to feel like it was burning my lips. The tingle just increased in volume and I couldn't take it anymore. I still tried to use it all up because it was an expensive lip gloss but I was glad to finish it all up. I definitely won't be buying any of these anymore. I heard that these were discontinued and hard to find (but I am not sure about that) but I remember seeing these in the sale section on the Too Faced website.
VASELINE Lip Therapy "Original"
I love this stuff. I just wish that they had made these in a tube package because I would definitely stock up on them. Also can anyone please tell me if the Vaseline is the same as the Vaseline in the big jars because if they are, I would just rather buy that than pay around $3 for this little jar when I could pay $1 more for the huge jar of Vaseline. I was going to try that but I wasn't sure if the ingredients are the same and whether the big jar of Vaseline is safe for the lips. Either way, I just love how this keeps my lips moisturized throughout the night and day. The only thing that I don't really like about this is the packaging because I hate having to stick my fingers in there to get product.

LEGS PRODUCTS:
SALLY HANSEN Airbrush Legs "Tan Glow"
I love this for my legs. I go through a whole bottle of this for the summer. Its the best holy grail product for my legs. I just love the golden tan glow that it gives to my legs. I have white legs and no matter what I do, they just don't tan so I love how I can just apply this and show off my legs. It covers up all my imperfections and stays on all day. Sally Hansen also recently came out with this but in liquid form, which I can't wait to try soon.
If you haven't seen it yet, you can check out my SPOTTED post: CLICK HERE

So those are all the products that I finished! I am so happy but sort of wish that most of them would be makeup. LOL I think its going to be a while before you guys start seeing finished eye shadows and blushes in my empties post. Lets just wish that its not that far away in the future. Let me know if you guys finished any of your products lately and whether you would repurchase or not. I would love to know!
