Review/Swatches: Sephora Hot Hues Neon Lip Balm "Hot Pink"

Hey everyone! Its time for another review! I have been meaning to post up this review for such a long time but I was super busy the past few weeks. If you have seen one of my previous posts, then you would know that I bought this at Sephora in July. If you would like to see that haul, you can CLICK HERE. If you don't know what product I am talking about and haven't read the title for some reason, I am talking about the Sephora Hot Hues Neon Lip Balm "Hot Pink". This product was on clearance at my Sephora store so you might or might now be able to find this at your store. It was clearance for $3USD plus tax and reminded me of the LE Maybelline Shine Sensational Popsticks AKA LE Maybelline Color Sensational Neon Lipsticks. Since I couldn't find the Maybelline ones when they came out, I decided to try out the Sephora ones instead.

PACKAGING:
These come in a black tube like the usual lipstick tube where you would just take off the top and snap together to close. On the top of each tube, it comes with a cap that has a semi-clear neon tip that resembles the color of the lip balm inside. On the part holding the actual product, it just has the words "SEPHORA" written in silver around the case. The actual product inside is just a translucent neon lip balm. It ws actually cool and pretty just by looking at it.

PIGMENTATION:
Keep in mind that these are essentiallly lip balms but the only difference is that the actual product in the tube is translucent so you aren't going to get that much pigmentation from these. One swipe of this on my lips didn't provide much color so with this product, you would need a couple of swipes before you start seeing some color on your lips. For the swatches, I actually had to swatch it a bunch of times for the color to actually show up in the pictures.

MOISTURIZATION:
Since these are lip balms, I actually assumed that they were going to be moisturizing but boy, was I wrong. To feel any moisturization on your lips, you would need to swipe this product on a bunch of times and even with that, I are still left with a weird slick dry feeling on my lips. This just did not moisturize my lips at all. After using this, I always felt like I needed to apply on a clear lip balm just to keep my lips feeling happy. Sometimes I would even apply a clear lip gloss over this just to get that weird feeling on my lips to go away.

All-in-all, I did not like this Sephora Neon Lip Balm "Hot Pink" at all. After giving this a try a couple of days, I went back and returned this as well as the other Neon Lip Balm that I bought. That was the first time I had ever returned anything at Sephora before but I just couldn't stand looking at this in my makeup collection and not loving it all. Plus it would have been a waste of money to just throw away when Sephora has an amazing return policy. If you have tried this before, definitely let me know how you feel about this product because I would love to know if it worked for you or not.

    1. I think you are thinking of the Mayelline ones that came out last year and were part of a limited edition collection.
