Review/Swatches: Physicians Formula Matte Collection Eye Shadow Quad "Canyon Classics"

Hey everyone! I have been using this quad almost everyday since I have bought this quad. If you didn't know already, this quad has all matte shadows. I don't really have that many matte shadows in my collection. The majority of my mattes are highlight shades. I only have two other matte shadows and those are the two that are in my UD Naked palette. You all know which two matte ones those are. LOL

WHAT IT CLAIMS:
"The perfect assortment of colors to create picture perfect eyes, every time. Professionally color coordinated to emphasize the natural beauty of your eyes. Silky, smooth, matte finish eye shadows glide on and stay on for eyes that look their best all day and all night. Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers."
Silky smooth formula
Easy to blend
Safe for sensitive eyes
Hypoallergenic
Fragrance free
Dermatologist approved

This comes with four matte shadows, hence quad. LOL All shades are great everyday neutrals. It comes with a off white that can be used as a highlight, two brown shades that can be used for your crease, and a grey. I barely use the grey but sometimes I like to use it in my outer corner to darken up the color. All four shades apply nicely and blend well. All shades are pigmented and look pretty much the same with and without eye primer, although I had to swipe it a couple of times for it to show up on my camera. I think this quad is great for those who want to expand their mattes.

You can pretty much create an eye look just using this quad because it comes with a highlight and other shades that you can either use in your crease or outer corner. This compact comes with a small mirror and a sponge tip applicator but to tell you truth, I never use those. I am not an expert at applying eye makeup yet so makeup brushes are a must for me. Its a standard size compact that I feel can be great for on the go touch-ups and is sturdy to just throw in your bag. I really have no beef with this quad and love everything about it. I really think its a great palette to have, especially if you are a matte shadow lover and/or collectior. Plus its definitely great for makeup beginners. Its regularly priced at $7.49USD at CVS but I have seen some CVS stores price it higher, so keep a look out. You can also find it at other drugstores as well or any place that sells PF cosmetics.

Do you have a lot of mattes in your collection?

  1. This is one of my favorite quads. The pigmentation is really good and it's hard to find good drugstore matte shadows. Great post!
