Swatches: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo & Milan
Hey everyone! If you saw my previous Ulta haul, then you would know that I just recently bought these NYX Soft Lip Creams. This week, Ulta is having a 40% off sale on NYX, Revlon, and Almay cosmetics. The sale ends this Saturday on April 7, 2012 so be sure to definitely check out the sale before it ends! These are the first two Soft Matte Lip Creams that I have tried. I have already tried both of these and I am not sure how I feel about them. With these, I definiely feel the need to exfoilate the lips before wearing these because they will show every dry sspot and lines on your lips. The packaging on these are alright, typical lip gloss packaging. The cap on these are like a matte rubbery feel. The caps have the same feeling as the NARS packaging. The actual packaging containing the actual product is just plastic.
How NYX describes their Soft Matte Lip Creams:
"It's not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It's like nothing you've experienced before. It's lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte."
Tokyo is a matte light pink shade. This shade is hard for my to pull off because its so pale. I don't think this shade is for everyone because its so hard to wear.
Milan is a fuschia pink. This is really pretty and I think this will look pretty on a lot of different skin tones.
I wish that they were sealed for sanitary reasons because I hate buying lip products and not knowing if someone has already opened them and swatched them, especially with lip glosses. I don't know if I am going to return these and/or exchange them because the two that I have feel so dry. They feel as if someone already opened them and forgot to fully twist the cap. If anyone has these, please let me know if the actual product applies dry and semi-clumpy. I know that they are matte lip products and mattes are dry on the lips but these feel so weird. Plus it feels like there is barely any product in the tube. What do you guys think? Should I go back to Ulta and return these? These regularly cost $5.99USD. With the 40% off sale, they now cost $3.59USD and with the Ulta coupon, I only paid $2.70USD plus tax for each.

Hey Lisa :) I have the Tokyo Lip Gloss and it is extremely dry unfortunately. I felt the same way as well in regards to it's packing. Wished they we're sealed up :/ Any who, I came across your blog via Hiyooitscat giveaway. I am also hosting a mini giveaway if you are interested. :)
